  1. Emmanuel Kitonyo says:

Thanks for keeping us informed. Chungwa Moja, Maisha Bora!

  2. SAM KING (MSA) says:

Sam King Voting in Changamwe Mombasa, we that are not in Nairobi would like to urge our fellow ODMERS in Lang’ata to keep vigil. Let us avoid any interference with polling excercise especially from strangers whom we very well know that they have got there own selfish agendas. As a matter of fact, countrywide its ODM! TO GOD ALONE BE THE GLORY

  3. Noah Otieno says:

I have today at 9.50am received a call from Kibaki on a concealed No (or at least it was a VERY INTELLIGENT voice recording) – greeting me “hujambo”, then I replied “Sijambo Bwana” and then he introduced himself “mimi ni Mwai Kidaki” then he continued in Kiswahili to ask me to consider voting for him.

How did he get my number on a day like this? This move may have some impact on some yet to decide cases given that he is a whole sitting president. Could there be need to counter this from the Orange Campaign Team? For now my contentment is “Once orange ALWAYS ORANGE”.

  4. Elizabeth says:

Oooh! Am off to Nyayo Stadium. I must end this campaign in style. I am in Nairobi and even my boss knows that if I sit in the office the whole day, my mind will be in Nyayo. History might judge me wrong. See you there! Hope to get a glimpse of Raila Amollo Odinga Agwambo!

I wanted to be here today for this online rally, but I am going for the real thing. Sorry for those ODMers who cant make it to Nyayo today we are with you in the spirit of a FULL ORANGE!

  5. ODM!

  6. PAMOJA TUANGAMIZE UFISADI,UKABILA NA TUSONGE MBELE!

  7. Chepkwony(Kericho) says:

I urge all Kenyans who love their country and wish it to proser to come out in large numbers(even dragging those who do not love this wonderful country) and vote for change. It is only through this change that we shall breathe freedom and liberty we have longed for and fought for since liberation war started. We in the shags are praying hard for our hero RAO and our brothers and sisters in Langata Constituency for there the enemy of change has focused. Just like HEROD behaved during the first NOEL when the WISE MEN from the east declared than a KING has been born, these old kings have gone overdrive and are seeking our NEW KING to exterminate. Thank GOD they will not succeed and we shall march from Kibera to State House come Dec. 28th. Please it is only those who love their country who shall lay down their lives for it. COME OUT AND VOTE for then shall we know you love KENYA.
GOD BLESS AGWAMBO, GOD BLESS KENYA, GOD BLESS LOVERS OF OUR COUNTRY; AMEN & AMEN

  8. Abuya says:

ODMers PLS PLS lets turnout in large numbers & tuwe macho uwizi wakura hatutaki,if we are to loose lets do it fairly but not unfailry to Pnu goons. Go go ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!

  9. tnk says:

    scientific fact

Oranges are a great source of Vitamin C! One orange actually has all the Vitamin C you need for the day!

    C = Change

The first letter or PNU is P

P = terms associated medical with psychotic disorder or associated treatments.

    or check this out

  10. tnk says:

if you don’t follow above argument

we are kenyans, we need good honest govt free from corruption and able to tackle injustice, security and other everyday wrongs not just be treated to roadside district distribution and creation. Moi only dished out a few roadside districts. Kibaki has issued more than 60 districts in his last few months of presidency. why not turn every consituency into a district. Districst are issued to those who havent seen the economy grow. Districts are not being issued in central province. They are meaningless there.

please stop kibaki from propagating trivial triablism on 12/27/2007

support Raila and ODM in enabling true change

  11. Mudekhere Owiti Silas says:

agent4change please follow the story about marked ballot papers at Nginyo Towers …am worried…

wambo jana in KK and I can assure u, the Man is all Presidential !
Hey, it was great seeing OMUTO…the man is full of fire! Where is Yego people????
Am now watching the rally and the crowd at Uhuru Park is an embarrassement to PUNU! Guys, there’s no contest here, no wonder these guys are so obsessed with rigging!
I envy u guys in Nyayo, but let me hold brief in Western!

  12. Noah Otieno says:

To the Orange Team and ALL agents of Change, Sober Christmas and properly Focussed Entry into the New Year 2008

Let us organize to send the OLD man on retirement to his Othaya home

  13. McJairo says:

What a day we have been waiting for? I am away from Nairobi but keenly following the happenings there. I have been informed Nairobi is painted Orange all through at this time, while some scatterd people are seen on KTN singing an ethnic groups songs at Uhuru park.

I am getting a disturbing news that some 500,000 pre-marked votes have been unearthed at Nginyo towers. Any confirmation from the people in Nairobi? I am told they are pre-marked in favour of Kibaki, is that why the media does not highlight it on the breaking news or its is just another prank?

We are confident that in 3 day Kenya is gong to have a new energetic president. one who cares for the common man, yet has a caring first lady. Not one that specializes on slapping men
    CHUNGWA MOJA MAISHA BORA

  14. McJairo says:

Is it fair for Kibaki to be issuing districts when he visits other areas and be commisioning roads, major projects when he visits GEMA lands?

We are following the two Rallies and we see the difference is all clear

  15. zizi says:

I am is diaspora unable to get a flight back home to vote. I however tried to convince my villagers who are PNU inclined to think again. I can assure you that I won the hearts of 2 who were undecided.

I have also been sick and anxious about a Raila win. I have no doubt in my mind that he shall win. I have done calculations each days based on all possibilities and I am sure he will win. However, we need not make any mistake now. Did we sent out Xmas messages to Kenyans from RAO? Let Kenyans feel him this Xmas.

Is is true that Ballot papers have been traced an Nginyo Towers? Please keep us updated.

If the rallies are anything to go by, then we should Just pray for voter turn out. I am diasopora but I will call again to remind guys to go vote.

    God bless Kenya

  16. peris says:

As a Kenyan in the UK I am in so much solidarity with whats going on in my country and cant wait to see Hon Raila crowned as president of kenya in a few days. Kenya has gone through so much as a country and needs a youthful leader like agwambo, all ODMers so we pray RAILA TOSHA

  17. philip says:

I wish i could have been in Nairobi to see how Agwambo ends his campaign in style however wherever i am,i pray for him .Since i was born God has always given us kenyans chrismas gift and this year He has delivered us from slavery land to Canan through Agwambo as Moses,[Ruto,Balala,Musalia,Nyaga,Ngilu]as Haroun.

  18. McJairo says:

Now that we are getting it that the rallies are underway, may we know if agent4hange has staff keeping an eye on Nginyo towers?

  19. McJairo says:

We are getting it that the PNU rally has somehow poor attendance and a poor attempt at ethnic hide by havinga Luo MC. Will that MC not be slapped?

  20. zizi says:

Agent for change should be part of this rally to tell what is not happening across. McJairo’s question is important. Is it true that Nginyo is the haven to steal my birth right? Please update.

There were also reported cases of voter buying in Kitale in todays newspapers. Could someone, we should parade them and let them answer on whose behalf they are doing the business. The same stroy was heard in Bungoma where chiefs are involved in the saga. Domo for the last day i wish could happen.

    God bless Kenya.

  21. Phil says:

    Agent$Change,

I cannot just express my pride at being part of this.

The forthcoming elections, more than ever before, are the most important in post independet Kenya. For once, there is a candidate providing an well articulated alternative as to how business has been conducted in Kenya.

Unfortunately, many Kenyans think that their singular vote does not make any difference whether they cast the vote or not. Its important for us to spread the message verbally and and make our fellow citizens understand that voting provides the ONLY civic platform for each and every citizen of this country to decide that which will determine their own destiny as well as that of future generations of this country. I believe this is the message ODMers on this forum should preach so as to boost voter turn-out.

On a personal note, after having extensively researched the candidates and political party policies, and of course after having been bitterly let down by the NARC government, I shall be casting my vote to Raila in Langata as MP and as president, and also the ODM nominee for the Serangombe Ward.

I am extremely proud to be part of this change and that this will be recorded in history.

  22. McJairo says:

It gives me pleasure to participate in the third liberation of Kenya. This time from an ethnic hegemony.
Little worry in my mind is on the Nginyo Tower issue as that would militate against my right. May we get a feed on the Nginyo Tower from anyone with info?

  23. Achola Omolo says:

I’m finally free to go and try catch up with what’s left of the Nyayo fete. You’ve all been wonderful people and my humble appeal to you all is that let’s all come out in large number’s on the 27th and make our voice heard. As it’s the end of the official campaign period it’s now our turn as foot soldiers to do the campaign to get that extra vote.As Dominic Odipo has rightly put it in today’s Standard Raila is our best bet in realigning our national compass and set us in the right direction in guiding this nation towards the dreams that our Great forefather’s had. For Our sake and the sake of children unborn we shouldn’t let this opportunity pass.

God bless u all, God bless Kenya.

  24. Mudekhere Owiti Silas says:

Honorable Ladies and Gentlemen of Kenya, after seeing what has happened at Nyayo, I can say I am a very proud Kenyan coz I am on the right side…the winning side; O D M. The final submission was the real Bomb and honestly Agwambo was at his BEST!!!!

  25. Pablo says:

We hate nobody, but what we want is the truth and justice which beareth equality to all Kenyans. and as I have gone thro the main thre manifestos the only way to achieve all that we have been praying for is to come out in large numbers and make sure that we vote not only voting but voting ODMx3 and we shall have the liberation on the 28th morning as we sing Chungwa Moja Ni Maisha Bora GET OUT AND VOTE FOR ODM FOR A NEW BEST GENERATIONAL LEADERSHIP USIBAKI NYUMA

  28. Mudekhere Owiti Silas says:

Laughable…..MUNGATANA has given insanity a new meaning….hey, did u see who spoke before Kibaki? Uhuru Kenyatta….So do u still doubt RAO over the dynasty MOU? What’s your take bloggers????

  29. Tony Uk says:

that is it we do not want this dynasty maneno, it time that we redistribute the leadership to other people/communities in kenya

  30. Tony Uk says:

just got word that PNU rally is very sparse lakini ODM is massive and guess what KBC is to scared to boadcast

writting is on the wall guys mambo ni chungwa

  31. faddie says:

  33. georgy says:

I am just from the Nyayo stadium and i must say what i saw there was unbeleivable. The crowd was unbeleivable. We are surely winning. I was impressed by RAILA. He was truly at his best. He gave it his all. I was very impressed by the PASSION of our supporters before, in and after the rally. It was amazing and no one would want to miss that. It was crazy. I loved every moment of it. It was a true picture of really how people yern for change. They are tired but finally Raila is here to bring the change. Thank you all ODMers. Make sure you wake up early and vote for ODM and remember its three Piece. Have a merry christmass and a happy orange year.

  34. Masu says:

I am in the UK and keen to know if anybody has an update on NGINYO TOWERS, had to subscribe to the KTN online TV to witness our HERO at the Nyayo stadium. I am now pumped up and full of confidence, and after watching the procedings at Uhuru park I can CONFIDENTLY say we are THERE!!. HEKO AGWAMBO

  35. Maru Kapkatet says:

ODM Victory Thursday. Ushindi Alhamisi ODM.

Ang’wan. Ang’wen. In perfect harmony, forward ever, backward never!

I rest my case and await the people’s verdict, which I already have a peek at – It’s a Raila Malo, Raila Kityo.

May all go well for ODM as they mean well. May God bless ODM with abundance of votes on Thursday and abundance of ideas and means to build and unite Kenya when they take over on December 30, 2007. Amen.

  36. Otsiatso says:

I am listening to RAO on KASS fm right now. This is great.

  37. Olookisa says:

Massive massive turnout today and very impressive the speeches…Just to urge all orange web army that remember to VOTE on 27th and dont move an inch after casting your ballot….DONT for the love of Kenya listen to that fellow Kiraithe….

Otherwise to all the orange web army who have kept us going this far…have a Merry Xmas and an even Orange 2008.

  38. Jangili Jangwani-Joakim Jogoo says:

    Hi,
I hope we are going to win the elections. I heard on the streets that JAH CURE might be invited to entertain the crowd at the swearing in Ceremony. Is that true?
    Jah Bless,
    PEACE

  39. ken says:

To one and all, this is crunch time, we have fought the good fight and we can see the light!!, Lets keep pushing till we exit the tunnel. I would like to wish all ODMers the best as we face off with the enemy, please go out and vote, vote for change, vote for those of us who have been disenfranchised for being in the diaspora, vote for our children and the elderly, and come 28th God willing we shall overcome. Merry Christmas and a happy electioneering process

  40. ODM says:

IAM ADVISING THE ODM BOARD TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE IN LANGATA I HEARD LIVONDO HAS IMPORTED VOTERS.

  41. Odock Kizito says:

Georgy, I totally agree with you, watching RAO today on TV you could just about think of some of the great speeches by leaders such as mandela, martin luther king etc. etc. Raila was at his best today and he showed that indeed change is inevitable in the coming days…let as all get out and vote…let us all get out and vote…i strongly hope that the turn-out and passion today at nyayo stadium will translate into votes and eventually our victory…

  42. Odock Kizito says:

Hey, I noticed today for the first time Raila today spoke in Dholua at a public Rally, can anybody tell us what this means or implies…Mudavadi too followed and spoke in luhyia…any body out there to contribute on this?

  43. tnk says:

Dear ODMers merry x-mas and kudos for keeping up the fight. I have been flabbergasted by the media ads and coverage that have continuosly played only PNU / Kibaki events and ads. One of the first tasks for an ODM govt is to list all these biases and immediately embark on educating wananchi on avoidance of these institutions and break their monopoly over the industry. We do not want them to suddenly change tune and sing along.

remain vigilant up to handover. police commissioner needs to regain his status as a no-nonsense diligent and efficient army officer, and round up these rogue APs and other malcreants who have been/are being used to rig elections. he needs to do exactly as he did with kamau when he raided standard newspapers and dismantle that network. even policemen need change and want to improve their own services and image in the public. police need to investigate and stop these criminal rigging schemes in under 24 hours, they can do it.

lastly find and keep a list of at least 4 phone numbers you can call on dec 27th if you witness any election malpractice (rigging, violence, etc) and make sure you know of at least one or two ODMers that you can walk with to a poll station and back especially if you are in a high risk area.

ODM professionals have provided such a list but find one from ODM secretariat or your nearest ODM agent.

God bless you all and lets have a bright and shiny Orange New Year (Orange is the colour associated with the beginning of a new day as the sun rises)

PNU blue of course is about moonlight blues, monday blues etc

  44. mumias says:

No need to panick about the fact he spoke in Dholua and Mudavadi in Luhya. RO was merely ensuring that he consolidates his home turf of both Nyanza and Lanagata. It was a very brief expression meant to revitalise his troops for what is the last push.

  45. Odock Kizito says:

Thank you Mumias, I guess that brief expression by Raila must have sent cold shiver among some of our brothers from mount Kenya….just wondering. how about the question of three piece in nairobi as he strongly put it?

  46. onyi says:

Even if I was an alien who dropped from Pluto and I landed in the middle of the Sahara desert and I somehow found myself way to Nairobi on the 24th of December and someone asked me whom I would vote for……I would note hesitate to say Raila Amolo Odinga even if I had to say it in sign language!!!

  47. tnk says:

is there any way that agent4 change can post or announce results polling center by polling center as they are recieved from Dec 27/28 or is there any way of getting to such a service. We want to know right away and cross check any anomalies.

  48. mumias says:

Good point. However is there any more news on the interception that was reported earlier of the marked ballot papers?
Furthermore has there been any change in the issue of people in polling stations who have cast they vote? obviously this has implications to the efficacy of keeping vigilance at stations.
With regards to the results, perhaps the a special hotline set up where us guys on the front line could sms results live as announced by polling officers as and when they are delivered and a tread set up accordingly that is updated showing the information

  49. OPADO says:

WELL DONE AGWAMBO NOW IS OUR TURN.MOI-UHURU-KIBAKI WAME KWAMA!
THEY MUST GET DOWN.THEY LIKE IT OR NOT. THEY ARE WAISTED POOR AND OLD THEY HAVE NOTHING NEW TO TELL KENYA.THEY LOOK SO SMALL AND STUPID. THEY MUST GET DOWN NOW.THEY FEEL SCARED AND WET. TELL THEM TO STOP TREMBLING AND ALCOHOLIC.THEY LACKS PRODUCTIVITY AND PROJECTS YHE MAJESTIC PEOPLE OF NEEDS URGET. SHAME ON THEM THE PERJURER,FRAUDERAND THIEVES BANANA EATERS MAGENDO BLUE!!!
    ologaoywo nyakwar opado obingo!

  50. jaugenya says:

i hereby suggest a new slogan th at shou;d be dorn by suppoters on the material day ” mimi ni mmoja wa chungwa “

  51. Mulama Lutta says:

    Hello fellow Kenyans of goodwill!

Even though I am away from my beloved country, I am regularly and constantly praying for RAO to not only win, but also win with a landslide majority of both MPs and Councillors.

I want to thank Kenyans for standing firmly behind ODM and its Captain. The time has come for the rich few to let Kenyans chart their destiny. It is only Agwambo and his Pentagon that can lead Kenyans to the promised land.

Remember not to leave the polling stations until the results are announced by the ECK Chairman. Agwambo karibu uongoze wananchi kutoka kwa umasikini, ujinga, magonjwa, uuaji, ukabila, unyakuzi, na ubepari. May God give you victory and guide and protect you throughout your Presidency and after.

  52. tnk says:

just had the laugh of my life. was listening to KBC channel 1 constituency discussion sponsored by UNDP which suddenly went off air when the very eloquent ODM aspirant for Dujis Mr Duale had just started ripping into the regimes of Kibaki, Moi and Kenyatta and had just started enumerating how these regimes have failed North eastern. Well done Duale

Vote ODM Vote Raila VOte 3 piece.

  53. pabokenya says:

kibaki is going home and no amount of rigging can stop the idea whose time has come

  54. Obonyo(Starehe) says:

Merry X-mass ODMers the ball now is in our court then pentagon has done there work its now our responsibility to to make sure we vote on 27th.Please ODMers dont leave anybody make sure u go with them and if ur in the city make sure u call pple at a home and remind them to vote.Me am in the city have reminded my mum at home and she told me she is going to vote 3piece in GEM.Please ODMers Police is in our side so we should not throw stones at them on polling station its only a few like Ruto said its the police that is providing all these plot of rigging

  55. alfyinkiambu says:

Merry X-mass everyone a late blogger but keen follower here. RO AND MM just wanted to emphasize 3 piece for all the candidates acrooss all the constituencies moreso in Embakasi hence the change ino local dialect. Ensure you sms 20 guys to confirm if they have voted.

  56. McJairo says:

    Merry X-mass to all.
Celebrate wisely and remeber to take the whole of your clan, tribe and race to the Voting booth on 27 December 2007

    AN APPEAL

PLEASE DO NOT DRINK ON THE NIGHT OF 26 DECEMBER 2007

  57. Odock Kizito says:

And by the way did YANO ever surface? where are you voting? seems like we are forgeting this one important ODMER just hours before the elections. YANO whereever you are shout…!

  58. mumias says:

Can the secretariat come up with a quick advert for the radio stations including the venecular ones which emphasis the importance of staying sober the night before to the youth. They should be hard hitting with play on the words along the lines of the 5 yr hangover caused by drinking and letting Kibaki back into power and consequently the continuation of being held hostage by the shackles of the rich!!! This is very important!!

  59. Pauline Long says:

    Dear Hon Raila,

This is my only appeal to you on behalf of everyone in Kenya who has a child in their life. Please prioritise CHILD POVERTY. Make Kenya the first African country to introduce child benefit and free school meals to all children. It’s all well and good to have free primary school educatrion but what is education if you are learning on an empty tummy. N child should go without basic needs especially food just because they may be orphans of HIV/AIDS.

MAKE KENYA A CHILD WELFARE STATE.

    Thanks

  60. OPADO says:

HEY ! ODM SUPER STARS!THE CHARMPIONS!I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND I CARE. MERRY CHRISTMASS TO YOU ALL! YOU ARE THEMOST BEST MATERIAL BLESSED BY GOD.YOU MADE YOUR CAPTAIN POPULAR THAN JESUS CHRIST IN FIRST CENTURY.THE DAY BELONGS TO YOU AND YOU MERITS ALL THAT ARE ON THE TABLE AT KINGDOM.LET THE POLICE STAYS LIKE THE CIVILIAN
AND MUNGIKI GOES TO HELL WITH ALL IT’S DEVIL PASTUERS LIKE MOI ,BIWOTT
UHURU, KIBAKI ,SAITOTI, MURUNGARU ,KIRIATU ,KARUME MUCHUKI;.TOGETHER
LIKE ONE NOW MAKE KENYA A BETTER PLACE FOR THE WELL BEING OF YOU CHILDREN.THE CAPTAIN HAS STATED CLEAR ALL THAT HE SHALL NEVER DO
IN TEN YEARS OF HIS TERM AND SHALL I SAY AMEN.FEAR NOT FOR ALL OUR EXPERTS ARE IN FULL FORCE TO SEE THAT WE COME OUT VICTOR FOR THIS IS THE WISH OF GOD OF HEAVEN AND NO MAN CAN GO A GAINST IT.MAY GOD GIVE RAILA AMOLO ODINGA LONG LIFE. GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS KENYA!!!!!!

  61. Jaugenya says:

Dear God I hereby submit my chrismas prayer , i humbly request you to personally oversee the elections in Kenya for in your name no trickery or dishonesty can pass .I strongly believe that you will not let such an injustice upon your people , and lastly may we have the leader that you have anointed to drive our beloved mother to prosperity for all you children Amen

  62. Shaqmaya says:

Watch out on this APs, if you get one, blow the whitsle as loud as you can and let the public lynch that rat and feed his body to stray dogs.

  63. Shaqmaya says:

Kibaki wants to see bloodshed in Kenya with his APs rigging syndicate, one of the APs was lynched in Mbita and many will follow.Mudavadi said that Ukraine folks succeeded to uproot a rigged in president, next on the line is Kenya if Kibaki tries to impose himself to Kenyans.

  64. Amosogal says:

Hey. We will lynch those strangers at our polling station. Let everyone be alert. I am really happy with the public on how they have handled the APs so far. Lynch, lynch and lynch. Our area chief (Nyakac) has been going round in funerals telling people to vote and go home. We will vote, and wait for the results to be counted. Once the results are announced, will will then go home and celebrate. Also, Please, Please, give RAO the three piece. Anybody with update from Ugeny???/

  65. Amosogal says:

Is there any plan to withdraw PSV plying the Nyanza and western route. I know there are alot of people ho intend to move from ksm and vote in there rural home! and vice-vasa. Please do not accept to pay more that the recommended fare. We must VOTE and THREE piece. DO YOU HAVE A WISTLE?? IF NO PURCHASE ONE

  66. tnk says:

if there has been no response from police commissioner/hq on the AP incindence, then we should assume that the police commissioner is either compromised or unable to tackle the problem we need urgent press statement from the ODM secretariat.

ODM secretariat must insist on the immediate formation and mobilisation of a crack police team to track and hunt these rogue APs before elections begins. Voters remain vigilant

  67. kenya odm says:

Raila don’t sleep this issue of Aps is real and they are out to finish us. take precautionary measures .pliz never allow those people to polling stations if they insists make sure they pay with their blood kill all of them if anything they are from central show them that kenya is made up of 42 tribes.even Isralites killed to get to Canan. We are guarding Nairobi.

N/B: remember agents have to be locals not foreigners outside a location or division.

Above all come out in large numbers and vote for ODM to shun KIMUNYA and their corruption deals.

  68. Kip says:

The Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK) Chairman Mr. Samuel Kivuitu, and the Kenya Police Commissioner Maj. Hussein Ali are apparently not fully in charge like the are supposed to by law. Both of them have being circumvented like it happened in the past when Police Commissioner Maj. Hussein, was cut-off the loop by his subordinate when it came to raiding The Standard & KTN newsroom. This time again, there is a parallel ECK and a parallel police force operating independently within their respective jurisdictions.

The purpose and objectives of the parallel operations does not need any substantiation!

The two civil servants, although appointed at the Head of State’s prerogative, are servants of the state. When the two of them fail to perform their duties, either by design or not, they are serving the interests of a particular region or person.

Kivuitu and Maj. Ali need to open their eyes, wake up and realize they need to take charge and get things in order, more than they have ever done so in their illustrious careers. Millions of Kenyans are counting on them to come out of that dark closet.

In the event that the alleged rigging gets to fruition, it will be because this two high ranking civil servants did not perform their duties according to the oaths that they took when they were appointed by the Head of State to; in summary, diligently serve all the people of Kenya, according to the Constitution of Kenya, and all the laws of the Kenya without fear or favour.

Samuel Kivuitu and Maj. Hussein Ali, Kenyans are counting on you and we expect you to deliver. It is still not too late.

  69. Kip says:

Please let us not lynch fellow Kenyans. They have families too. Citizen arrest is sufficient, like they did in Iten.

  70. alfyinkiambu says:

Reports from Ksm more of those APs/Agents have been picked by wananchi and are being disciplined. The word is please tell guys to still go ahead and vote not to fear. Guys should wait untill all votes are counted no matter how long it takes!

  71. Shaqmaya says:

According to KTN, Railas and all names starting with O were missing in the voter register, ECK had to face the wrath of voter and at last they were allowed to vote. So far from the votes counted, Raila is leading with 39,000 votes and Kibaki second with 25,000 votes, ODMers lets pray, ushindi ni yetu. Chungwa moja maisha bora

  72. Shaqmaya says:

Even in Langata Raila is leading so far

  75. Abdi says:

The ODM candidate, Mr. Mohamed Elmi, has a commanding lead in Wajir East with almost 90% of votes counted, so the PNU candidate, Former Regional Minister Mohamed Mohamud Abdi, who also doubles as PNU NEP election co-ordinator is not coming back to parliament.

The ODM candidate is also having a slight lead in Mandera East.

Please give us reports from other areas as well.

  76. Were says:

I like the fact that 99+ percent of central votes are going to Kibaki.

Ample proof that Kenya is not their’s.

I look forward to a bright Orange Future 🙂

i wish odinga to be the president of kenya from today

  78. odinga says:

  80. odinga says:

odinga is the one can bring kenya out from poverty

  81. odinga says:

hi odinga the new president of kenya

  82. Shaqmaya says:

Raila has won the langata seat with 59000 votes, Livondo is far second with 25, 000 of which some of his votes were rigged into the ballot box. In Kamkunji and Starehe there is chaos, All pentagon members(Ngilu included) apart from Nyaga made it to the 10th parliament. All sons of moi were rejected with the people, these must be a lesson to Moi that he no longer commands big following the way he thinks.

  83. Shaqmaya says:

Do someone know how many constituencies inODM and Kibakis turf are yet to be tallyed? According to KTN Raila is leading with 493 422 votes only.

  84. kube says:

    I love u all ODMers.

pliz agent of change, give us another topic to discuss pliz.
ongera ODm and all wana chungwa who showed no mercy to moi daddy 2

  85. jaugenya says:

wake up CAPTAIN these guyz are rigging the will of kenyans please show us the way

  86. Maru Kapkatet says:

There is something definitely amiss with ECK. Raila should not concede if they declare that Kibaki won. Instead, ODM should insist that all ballot papers be counted manually in the ECK offices in Nairobi, one presidentail ballot paper at a time. The number of ballot papers should then be tallied against the number of voters for each polling center. The ballt papers must be examined to verify that they are genuine.

Raila, you have come a long way. This is not the time to let down the people of Kenya. Kibaki, his government, and PNU have shown that they were bent on rigging the election but by the grace of God, they were partially stopped in their tracks. They rigging plot may have been effected in Central and Upper Eastern provinces.

  87. Shaqmaya says:

Why are the ballot papers from meru taking so long? I can smell a rat over there, this people are playing games. Raila won, whatever the results !!!

  88. kube says:

    Gotabgaa,

Kibaki will be declared winner and installed immediately as the country¢s fourth president. The plan to rig the elections started long time ago with the pollsters preparing Kenyans ahead of time. They kept saying this election will be too close to call! That was carefully planned to play with the psyche of everybody in the country and to the international community. Kibaki¢s major problem was the possibility of his inability to get the 25% of votes in at least 5 provinces. The pollsters helped him to plan and it looks like their homework worked. The sent cars and security personnel to RV, Nyanza and Western to confuse everybody while the work on the NE, and Coast ballot papers. The whole country was fixated on these cars and what they had in them and forgot about the other provinces! As I watch the report of the tallied votes from these two provinces, I am mesmerized by the numbers Kibaki is getting! This guy has been totally rejected in large parts of NE but in many places, he has more votes than Raila in NE and Coast! This is unbelievable! NE is a place rigging can easily be executed because of the hostile terrain. The opposition candidates can hardly match the government machinery in these sparse and difficult terrains. Because of their advanced plans to rig these elections, Kibaki will get the 25% from Coast and NE on top of his comfort zones. That was the hardest part for him! Getting the popular vote is not a problem to them since they hard a parallel ECK running side-by-side with the official one. Nairobi has been rigged left-right-center! There are a number of folks from that province who could tell people on the face that Kibaki will win this election whether you like or not!

If you were able to carefully listen to the conference the police commissioner held yesterday with political agents and the international reporters, then you must have realized that the questioners were worried that these elections have already been rigged and the purpose of the high security in the city is to deal with unrest with the unpopular president when he is declared and sworn in tomorrow! This will be a very sad day for Kenya and those who love democracy.

  89. Shaqmaya says:

Kenya is on the verge of turning bloody, people will die, officers will die and kids will suffer !!! I am calling out to all Kenyans who like democracy to mail as many mails as possible to the ECK and state house rejecting the results and to condemn these results

  90. Shaqmaya says:

You can mail the state house here contact@statehousekenya.go.ke

  91. abduul says:

    ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!

ALL PNU AND KANU WINNERS HAVE BEEN SUMMONED TO STATE HOUSE BY KIBAKI TO ESTABLISH A CABINET, THEY WILL ANNOUNCE KIBAKI AS THE WINNER TONIGHT, AND WILL ESTABLISH THE SWEARING IN CEREMONY TOMMOROW, AND ANNOUNCE THE CABINET ON MONDAY….. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON……. LORD SAVE KENYA…..

  92. Khalid Balajem says:

We Kenyan from Mombasa living in Washington DC organised a dinner last night to celebrate Hon. Najib Balala and Hon. Hassan Joho landslide win. We have set a a station and have updating news from Kenya. We are watching live KBC news and Nation media webiste has been very helpful. In coming President Raila shows a big margin and we believe in him.

With the delay of results from other constituency, we believe in ODM officials and they have our support. Kenya is turning Orange, people demand orange, people spoke to Raila, Welcome President Raila.

  93. jaugenya says:

    I have three peaceful suggestions and i strongly believe we only have these two;

1.Mr Kibaki to rise above tribal pride and be a statesman by conceding defeat as a matter of public intrest and also for the sake of peace,it is his GEMA which will suffer the most since it is only the other 41 ethnic groups of Kenya that do tolerate their large diaspora all over Kenya.I have never met a non Kikuyu who lives and does business in central.

2.Mr Kivuitu to exercise his powers and nullify the presidential vote and immediately set a date for a run off btwn captain and Kibaki. This option will humiliate kibaki even more but it is his call;now that even the few votes he could get outside GEMA will be ours and iam sure he does not want that level of embarrassment or does he.

    3. Kivuitu to nullify results from the corrupted zones in upper eastern and proceed to declare Raila Amolo Odinga the fourth and 1st peoples president of kenya.

Maisha Bora! , God’s way will win the day!

  94. tnk says:

    jaugenya

sensible choices but this only applies to sensible people, democrats and visionaries. Kibaki is neither of these. THere is also no need for a runoff since that condones malpractice.

i vouch for verification and recount and cross reference tallies only for the constituencies with discrepancies. there should be some live recordings accessible from the various media and other observers and possibly per each polling station. this includes estimates of turnout for the particular polling station. this data should be readily available and even can be computable based on queue lengths and time to vote. if no compromise can be reached and there is sufficient cause for doubt, then as you say nullify those votes. in each case its only the extremely low (less than 50%) turnouts and extremely high (greater than 82.5 %) turnouts that are of concern.

i do not expect any reasonable argument from PNU representatives on this so ball is in ECK court. I am baffled at how results announced loudly at poll centers can be allowed to change. and secondly those centers where “lights went out” for over two hours, as well as where the presiding officers and ECK agents disappeared for several hours with the results. we badly need people of high integrity in public service.

  95. zizi says:

    ODM members,

First, I congratulate RAO for avoiding the media and letting others take Kivuitu to task.

Second, are there any updates from the night-long scrutiny of results? Vigilance.

Third, is there a way to quell the violence in the country? This is going to be our tughest task.

  96. COLU says:

Past history has shown that you are always addressing a fanatical crowd of people who are always shouting and screaming aimlessly and I find it hard to connect a sense of calm and composure with you as the Kenyan Head of State. Any comment?

  97. kube says:

    hey guys whats happening?

  98. kube says:

i here that they want to swear kibaki in a millitary baracks

  99. kube says:

whats the latest?has kibaki woken up

  100. tnk says:

it looks like ECK will announce results whether acceptable or not, then Kibaki will be sworn in. they will use the cooked figures not corroborated. i hope kivuitu who is a christian and a respected elder of society is above all this but we’ll know shortly whether to ever trust another old man or not.

all other old men such as nyachae, karume and others have been rejected. so its now only kibaki and kivuitu left to redeem the esteem of elders. lets see how this pans out

i’ve had enough of this now.

  101. tnk says:

yup guys kibaki has started the rubbish on KBC

  102. tnk says:

the game plan is obvious. to pacify the gullible and pave way for the rubbish iendelee.

i am now signing out of this blog. and taking up the good fight in other areas. i fear even this blog is now compromised. we are headed for another 5 years of the same slapping around, pumbavu and others.i have integrity and dignity no more of this

  103. Shaqmaya says:

What a big shame, Kibaki is imposing himself to Kenyans in a broad daylight. ODM should insist on recount infront of the international observers and the media. How can someone win a presidential election from one tribe in a multi ethinic state like Kenya?

  104. ken says:

this is a sham, let all kenyans go to the streets, its time for the revolution to begin, let us have peaceful rallies and shame Kibaki!!!

  105. ken says:

the police are using live bullets to kill people in Eldoret,!!, they cut power in Kisumu most of yesterday, what the hell is going on here let them not steal our votes for Gods sake!!

  106. Shaqmaya says:

RAILA IS THE PRESIDENT OF KENYA AND WE SHALL NOT ACCEPT KIBAKI TO BE IMPOSED ON US

  107. kip says:

it is time to go to the streets of nairobi and express our disatisfaction. this is unacceptable. we demand veryfication of those votes from juja, maragua, kamukunji immediately.

  108. Nick says:

Time for the Orange Revolution like in Ukraine in 2004. We can do it peacefully.

  109. jaugenya says:

What legal options does RO have as far as the ICJ is concerned i, know our court system is a sham just like kivuitu and his eck?

  110. jaugenya says:

What about impeachment ? i think after noinations we will clearly have2/3rd majority in parliament.

  111. Shaqmaya says:

SASA NDIYO MAPAMBANO YAMEANZA. KIVUITHI SHOGA MAVI YA KUKU WEWE. TEMBEA INJE KAMA WEWE MWANAUME. Pentagon should lodge a protest and the UN high court at the Den Haag Holland so that no country recongonises this dictatriol regime

  112. ken says:

forget legal actions let us go to the streets and do what the Ukrainians did, no one community should impose its will over a majority of the country, I will continue to say this we are all Kenyans and BEING Kikuyu does not give you a monopoly on patriotism. For kenyans In the diaspora stage marches on your host nations capitals and lets turn the world orange, do not let thieves steal our dream !!!!

  113. Shaqmaya says:

Jaugenya the only alternative is International United Nations court at the Den Haag Holland where Msemovic was convicted of power abuse on the people of serbian. Even the EU agrees with ODM, and have released a statement that the results were doctored to favour Kibaki.

  114. amani says:

It’s rather obvious that kenyans have been cheated in broad daylight, which is appaling…how will kibaki work with his new government!Majority odmers.I mean his ministers were literally voted out then who voted him in???He can fool people sometimes but he can’t fool everyone all the time.Gone are the days of dictatorship and kibaki should be man enough to step down for our president Raila odinga. Ironically kenyans should be celebrating for his swearing in ..but what do we hear…riots and violence all over the country…that should be enough for kibaki to know that the people have decided. He should step doen like a gentleman and accept defeat. We have had it…we are fed up and blood doesn’t have to be spilt for kiabki to realise that kenyans have decided.Oh God and who wants lucy the terror as first lady again..ENUFF IS ENUFF I FOR ONE IS FED UP!!!!

  115. Kenyans should adamantly refuse to be governed by a dishonest Kibaki, who has chosen the path of deception and manipulation of votes in collaboration with his cronies at ECK. I thought Kivuitu would rise above this kind of nonsense and give the people of Kenya their true choice, Raila Amolo Odinga. What a sad day for Kenya. I urge all Kenyans who believe that they’ve been betrayed to revolt, peacefully, and not allow Kibaki to begin his second term. He has no legitimacy to lead, after openly stealing victory from Odinga. I strongly urge Raila not to accept defeat, but seek recourse and justice. Let fairness, democracy, and justice prevail in Kenya. Kibaki has become a disgrace and so is Kivuitu. I’m very disappointed, just like I know many of you are. Let’s keep the fight until justice is done.

  116. Wananchi from all walks of life should peacefully demonstrate in all major cities in the country to register their dissatisfaction with the way vote tallying was done at KICC. A sustained mass protest would paralyze any of Kibaki’s moves to form a new government. As long as people are peaceful and banding together in huge numbers, without looting or destroying property and lives, they will be seen by the international community and their voices will be heard. We should all demand that Kibaki should step down for the sake of this nation and it’s peace loving people. The historic turn out at the polls and the peaceful way in which the process was carried out should be respected. Enough is enough. People have spoken and Raila Odinga should be our 4th President.

  117. Shaqmaya says:

All kenyans please attend the swearing ceremony of our 4th president on monday at 2pm. We will turn up in numbers!!! check what the European Union observers said at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7164890.stm

  118. tnk says:

agreed, only civil uprising can end this madness, no way we can wait another even 1 month.

we cannot legitimise stealing. this man has to be stopped. police are killing the wrong people. they should shoot at those in state house right now. how can a swearing in ceremony be conducted in presence of losers only and not elected representatives of the people.

brace yourself, the battle proper has begun

  119. ken says:

I am hearing that the pentagon has been arrested can anyone confirm this, there is a shoot to kill order in kisumu. What is wrong with Kibaki

  120. tnk says:

ken reports are that a state of emergency has been declared and pentagon members are either house arrest or have been arrested.

this is the true kibaki/michuki axis

  121. For us in Germany and Spain you are the real Präsident from Kenya !
The Votings ffrom Mister Kibaki was a big fraud the World stays on the side from you Mister Ordinga !
Alles Gute und Viel ERfolg !

  122. Can someone please confirm these reports of a state of emergency declaration and arrest of pentagon members. Has Raila been arrested as well. I’ve read reports online that live broadcasts on radio and television have been suspended in the name of public safety and tranquility. This is an order from Michuki I hear.

  123. NShah says:

A state of emergency? Kibaki must be removed now!

  124. ken says:

this is a sad day in our history, I urge everyone blogging to write to the newyork times , cnn, and any other media out there, let them know that the Kenyan media is unable to get information to the people, my friend in Nairobi just told me PNU youths and GSU are stopping people on the streets and asking if they are luo, then beating them, sometimes to death. If Moi had puled such a stunt when he was in power, The people of the Mount Kenya region would have raised hell and talked about unity in defying his rule, now that the shoe is on the other foot, there is silence? where are the reform minded Kikuyu brothers and sisters, why are you quiet when a robbery most foul has been committed? Is this why we all went to kamukunji for in 1991-92? was the clamor for change just a means of establishing a selfish grab on power at the expense of the country? My heart bleeds at this miscarriage of justice, this abuse of the Nation Kenya. Thanks tnk I pray that you are safe if you are in Kenya. I pray for the safety of everyone back in Kenya, and if it has to get worse we are heading back to be with you.

Brothers and sisters, I drew your attention to the following article
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_presidential_election,_2004
I want us to read and understand that people power is one of the most powerful voices in the world. We can assume several things
    1. State of Emergency
    2. Pentagon members arrested
    3. GSU will be sent in to directly deal with ODM supporters
    4. Media blackout.
Firstly Kenya has one of the highest number of foreign reporters based in Nairobi, so don’t you worry these guys are resourceful and will get information out

  127. mumias says:

    4. Media blackout.
Firstly Kenya has one of the highest number of foreign reporters based in Nairobi, so don’t you worry these guys are resourceful and will get information out

Now what I want to suggest is a well organised and simulatenous sit in, to occur concurrently in all parts of the country. Where we as ODM tape our mouths as a symbol of how our democratic voice through the ballot was denied.
I want to stress the importance of a peaceful protest people. I happen to have some information as to how the Kibaki inner circle is thinking at this pt in time, and that is to blame Raila for the chaos around the country. Ladies and gentlemen, they want an excuse to finish Raila off. If we truly love our captain as I solomnly do, we need to show restraint because our actions will be justification to target our captain and his able deputies.

We have to show that we can protest peacefully and through this we can force the international community to avail and pressurise these guys.

Let us take note of Ukraine, and let us realise the power of peaceful protest of the masses.

I want to stress that we should not target the Kikuyu’s at this point in time. They are not bad, infact they were merely lead astray by their leaders to protect their “own” remember even the poor Kikuyus leaving the slams have nothing to gain from supporting Kibaki as they only care about the rich’s interest. They are not the enemy.

I happen to be aware that even as they were manipulating ECK, there were Doves within the inner circle like Eddy Ngoroge who were not happy with the belligerent stance being taken by Michuki and Murage. These 2 are responsible for this, this plan was their baby. So there are some Kikuyu’s in his inner circle that are trying to bring the country from the brink.

In conclusion, We can organise peaceful protest that will speak louder than any clashes or riot ever will.
We have also to ensure we do not give the inner circle the chance to deal with leaders. believe me, this is their plan, all this is being blamed on Raila. ” we could not give Kenya to this thug” expression used by his handlers to justify rigging the election!!

    We shall overcome!!!!
God bless you all, more importantly God bless Kenya

  128. Kulundeng' osebuyo says:

Agent4change, excuse my language, since it will be flary with strong words at times.

The nation is bleeding! Let them shut all they think, blow bridges, cut all communication, impose curfew. My friends, enemy no. 1 has just unmasked himself to Kenyans.. I pity those who wasted their votes on this one. He has pretended all along and now its full gear. That is what they do!

He has nothing to lose, safe family and relatives and open Kenyan gold mine at their disposal to loot from for dynasties to come….. I pitty non GEMA PUNU diehards! they look so gullible, unwitty, overly loyal, foolish and not critical at all!!! They are lost, but sikio la kufa halisikii dawa anyway. I hate to feel used! I beleive in wisdom and I can’t beleive some Kenyans, God forbid, don’t seem to march the titles they hold. A medical Dr., some PhD holder, “Professor” behaving like an idiots and a dog that a bone has been thown at!!!!! What I have witnessed since election day to date, will surely go down in history as the worst moments in my life.

I strongly believe Kibaki must have cheated in his exams at Makerere to get a First class!!! but we can probe that later. I don’t see him as a clever man, but I see a greedy supertrump, specialised on opportunism..now that is now what intellectualism is all about, excuse me! So Moi told him what he did in 1992 and 1997 “When you sense defeat at the balot..Kibaki….are you listening? withold results from your strongholds, are we togather? then unleash the final inflated figure that takes care of your loss elsewhere and declare yourself a winner” No wonder defeat never was in his (Moi’s) vocabulary. WHY CONTEST THEN???? Is it possible to have 100% + voter turnout in the history of elections in the world? This worked for Moi, when most people in Kenya were not quite enlightened, but bad news for this boy since we saw it all through this stupid process…and he doesn’t give a hoot, “si uwache wajiuwe tu, hiyo ni ujinga wao. Ati niwaambie wasijiue? Wacha wakufe. Si nishanyakua tiari” Not for long my friend, Raila will soon ascend to power, and I mean soon! You and your Moi will go down the same way you came up. It’s good you told KBC to entertain kenyans on the rise and fall of Idi Amin today while you were cooking votes!!!

The genuinely elected Government of Hon. Agwambo must rule Kenya. Is anybody taking this lying down guys? I hate to think someone does. We are not Zimbabwe and we most certainly can’t do what Rwanda did. We are above that. I have enough Kikuyu friends. We beleive in the rule of law. Because Kibaki has stolen the people’s rights, it doesn’t make my best friend, Waweru, bad or an enemy!!! No! Change is here and we have to effect it now, infact the sooner the better before the PUNU strategists start luring some wolves among us who came in due to the ODM wave! Yote haiwezekani na Kibaki, bali Raila. No wonder loser Kombo said at one time when he got heckled at a rally in North rift something like: mark my words, PUNU will win whether you make noise here or not. Mapunda! let’s see if he will even be nomited as an mp, if there will be parliament to begin with that is! And there are dogs salivating at the bones that the tyrant “government” hyenas have chewed today and thrown to them, I mean ODM-K. Watch their mouths keenly. Kenyans will remove them, the entire PUNU OR panua, they are not chewing gum or bond glue to stick to power. Democracy is the most powerful tool for regime change and it shall prevail in Kenya…because Kenyans have spoken, and Agwambo has listened.

Enough is enough, HE. President elect, Hon. Raila. You have not lost, don’t feel down, haujashindwa!!! you won and you are the best president of the Republic of Kenya. I know they are reading this blog here and laughing…ati let them dream, your days are numbered pro PUNU, robbers, I thought you guyz only rob banks and break into homes. I didn’t know you also break into votes, my God!! Its not funny! Rais Raila, I don’t care if someone calls this a dream, but , you are the president, you will still be the president, not only in the hearts of the over 4.2 m voters that chose you, wacha ile 4.3 they put for PR reasons, but for our beloved Kenya and most certainly you will make world’s history for many generations to come. You will definitely deliver all your promises to Kenya, and it will be from 2008. Kenya needs you and I know you will soon be there.

Now they bank on the habit of some Kenyans forgetting things very quickly. Another blogger, elsewhere, shamelessly posted that the donkeys will riot tomorrow, the landlords will come for their rent on Tuesday and on Wednesday everything will be long forgotten and back to work as usual. I say NO. Its time for a rude awaking of the ruling class….This is outright minoritarian tyrany! remember “when you rattle a snake” demo, when the Artur brothers were hired for what we don’t know. They were so content that they know kenyans are ambivalent and full of emotions, and soon they will either forget, or get tired. So MK just igored it as Michuki rubbished the whole thing. They are back and this time they won’t succeed. People! check your historical facts right! especially what follows events similar to the crap that we have witnessed a couple of hours ago. Agwambo gave you power in good spirit and Agwambo will take it away from you since you are not worth it.

Soldiers, police etc, I can’t imaging you with your big clubs beating your own brothers or sisters to defend a greedy regime!! you took an oath, your boss also did but breached his, so who are you to uphold yours? THINK! USE YOUR HEADS before you lodge that tear gas canister on a criple on wheelchair begging for help or raise those clubs on your own mother carrying your lastborn sibling!!!! You are being used! WAKE UP AND THINK.!! USE YOUR HEADS! Its now or never for Kenya.

Freedom is coming tommorow!!!!!! Freedom is cominng tomorrow!

For how long are you gonna sit their watching your people being murderd? Why are you letting Muchuki to impose for us a rejected president? Uprise in the Army and instal the legally elected president of Kenya.

  134. zizi says:

Is there anyone with the latest information on the state of things?

1- where are the Pentagon members?
2- Is the notice for installation of Raila still valid?
3- How can we force Kibaki to resign?
4- Police declared Uhuru Park meeting illegal. Any inside story?

  135. Steve says:

Where is bishop Njue now to codemn this act of using live bullets? united we stand !! we will fight on to the last man.The blood of the dead Kenyans will haunt Mchuki and Kibaki for life. I wish the two an uncurable cancer!!!

  136. Soldier says:

We can only force him to resign by a seat in. Let all patriotic Kenyans seat in to clip the economy.

  137. mouse says:

Seems like there is calm around as of now, although please i’d urge everyone to remail that way. Any news about whats goin on down there in nairobi – i am in coast and here things are … i dunno, im stuck in the house and no damn news on tele, damn Dictators…

  138. kuludeng' osebuyo says:

Someone on the ground, please circulate and emphasize what Soldier has said upthere!! the occupants of statehouse are illegal! their landlords, the kenyan people evicted then at the ballot last week but they have refused to vacate. Please army brothers, you have all it takes, arise! stop the bloodshed and ethinic hatred going on. It happens everywhere in the world in situations like this. Remember you also voted for real change and are the majority in the forces as well. Why liberate Liberia, Sierra Leone etc and you can’t liberate your own homeland?

  139. Voice of Reason says:

You all need to stop causing trouble.

  140. Baijo M. Lorowu says:

UNSATISFACTORY VOTER TURNOUT IN OUR PERCEIVED SUPPORT STRONGHOLDS DID US IN. IF THE TURNOUT WAS AVERAGE ABOVE 80% KIBAKI & ECK KIVIUTU TEAM WILL NOT HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO DOCTOR & STEAL THE 2007 POLLS. KIBAKI STOLE PARTLY BECAUSE WE GAVE HIM CHANCE TO DO SO BY OUR SUPPORTERS NOT COMING OUT IN LARGE NUMBERS THE WAY THEY PASSIONATELY DID DURING THE CAMPAIGNS. WE NEEDED EVERY VOTE ON THE POLLING DAY & THEN KEEP TIGHT OBSERVER VIGIL THEREAFTER MONITORING AND TAKING RECORDS OF THE NUMBERS ETC. OTHERWISE WE ARE VERY SADDENED BY ECKs DECISION & HURRIED SWEARING IN OF KIBAKI AFTER DOCRORING RESULTS & STEALING ELECTIONS. RAILA IS THE POPULARLY & VALIDLY 2007 ELECTED KENYA 4th PRESIDENT. KENYANS WILL NOT ACCEPT KIBAKI AS THEIR LEADER. KENYANS WILL USE EVERY MEAN – LEAGAL OR ILLEGAL – TO RESIST KIBAKI 2nd REGIME AT ALL COSTS. KENYA CANNOT CONTINUE LIKE THIS FOREVER. CHANGE MUST HAPPEN WHETHER KIBAKI LIKES IT OR NOT

  141. KENYAMAN says:

The notion that our country is wounded is just absurd. Our country is hurting now, being dragged to the mud and destroyed by some power hungry ego maniacs. Raila should show some direction and follow the appropriate democratic steps to avoid a bloodbath. Kibaki has been elected as the ppls president and we should be looking at steps that will create some understanding from both supporters of the political divide. Period!

    last attempt to blog

  143. tnk says:

finally got through to the blog. has been blocked for three days now

we do not need to fan any more violence, but we cannot have an illegitimate govt running affairs of this country. media blackout so as to unleash terror and death is unacceptable. michuki must resign for the shoot to kill orders against demonstrations. he has killed young kikuyu men in the name of stopping mungiki and now kibera and kisumu people in teh name of restoring order.
I agree Kibaki cannot engage Raila in any talks unless he steps down. And the mockery of committees comprising the very same individuals who have been rejected or fanning the violence and tribal chauvinism (karume, karua, nyachae et al) is the biggest slap to democracy

  144. tnk says:

ECK was prepared for a run-off. the results should be nullified and the two face a run-off. And a more transparent organisation be put in place to oversee the ECK officers starting from Kivuitu down to the lowest clerk level. Kivuitu has put an enormous dent on his credentials and let down Kenyans badly.

  145. ken says:

let us get the names of all those killed since the sham election, this is Kenyas revolution, and they have paid the ultimate price so we can get to enjoy the dream we all shared, the dream of a complete change from the previous regimes. I urge everyone here to contact their friends, relatives and neighbors in the armed forces, and police included, to disobey orders to kill the citizens. Tell them we are all brothers and sisters and that they should not take part in this state sponsored thuggery.

  146. ken says:

Zizi we can force Kibaki to resign by applying pressure from all angles, keep calling cnn, nytimes and other news media and have them highlight the anomalies that put Kibaki in place, this pressure is beginning to bear fruit. The western media is waking up to the realization of what has happened. We can also keep blogging even on sites sympathetic to Kibaki and remind his supporters that in 1992-1997 we all fought for reforms that would change Kenya for the better, we wanted a change from cases of electoral malpractices and a break from tribalism, all of which have been abandoned by Kibaki and his ilk. Tell them that its not right for Kibaki to rig and perpetuate tribalism while it was wrong for Moi to do the same, we have to be consistent. And like I said earlier, call our brothers and sisters in the armed forces and have them ignore orders that will bring bloodshed, theres nothing Kibaki or Michuki can do to them, because the will be doing the peoples bidding. Lets Keep up the pressure.

  147. tnk says:

    my thoughts exactly

  148. alfyinkiambu says:

Guys remember what our leaders have said all along that not even a mighty army will prevent our cause . We should not relent until justice is done. If we keep quiet it means the same will be done in any election. And our Kikuyu brothers, sisters, wives and husbands have no problem with justice except the clique around Kibaki. I think even Kibaki himself is held hostage.

  149. Victoria Onyancha USA says:

To ODM, Mr Raila Odinga, William Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi

ODM, do not step down it is true that ODM (Hon. Raila) won the election according to what we are reading in the papers and how William Rumo addressed the press. Hon. Kibaki has to resign there should be no reconcialion tion if Kibaki is still going to be in power. Kenyans have been so peaceful and we do not want bloodshed. We are tired of corruption and we need change! Kenyan people are not stupid . They know what democracy means. Hon Raila, no compromise. If worse comes to worse let Kenya be divided into two, let us have Southern and Northern Kenya or Eastern and Western Kenya. Police are killing innocent people who are not even armed. It is pathetic we do not know if Kibaki is really seeing this. The blood of human being is crying revange. We Kenyans in the USA are appealing to you not to back off; you are our eye and we are backing you up ;we are supporting you. WE NEED CHANGE we do not want KIBAKI AGAIN IN POWER.

  151. daddy says:

I guess ODM and agent4change abandoned this site for some weird reasons. No new threads, no comments no nothing from the secretariat via agent4change. I wonder!! But if at all someone at the secretariat or anyone with access to Raila, I would like you to pass the following recommendations:

    1. Let us pursue to the end the CHANGE we voted for (note that over 60% voted for Raila, and that now over 80% are disatisfied with Kibaki, otherwise you would have had protest against demonstrations from the other presumed 50% against pro ODM demonstrators). This change shall be pursued via mass but peaceful demonstrations.

    2. Let us coordinate a national civil strike of all employees (teachers, doctors, nurses, businessmen, police, army, and everyone working in any capacity in private, company or government institutions for at least 7 days to paralyse the economy). This will send a strong message that we are not going to work for illegitimate government.

    3. There is no point of paying taxes to this Kibaki self proclaimed government. Let us call upon all those who are for change to stop paying taxes to this corrupt cronies in order to safeguard our monies.

    4. Let us push for the resignation of the government and ignore all messages from the government. If any PNU ministers, assistant minister, any official in whatever capacity come to a meet the people tour, let ODM supporters ignore such meetings, rallies and roadshows.

I hope that we will not be cowed to be bow down to unnecessary pressure to accept defeat, for as RO said, “Democracy comes with a big price”.

  152. tnk says:

kibakis effort at peaceful resolution are pathetic. HE MUST STEP DOWN IMMEDIATELY PERIOD. HIS ELECTION IS A FRAUD. HE HAS NO MANDATE TO RULE the poeple of kenya. Mutua’s statement is stale. the govt is illegit. If Kibaki had any honor he’d have stepped down, but that would be expecting too much. HE CAN ONLY UNDERSTAND TONS OF PRESSURE. do not relent we have to force him to step down. he’s the equiv of a hard core crim.

  153. rafiq says:

    agree fully

  154. Shaqmaya says:

Kibaki should do kenyans proud and resign, his name has been tainted all over the world. With or without media blackout, the first thing you here from anyone in Europe is,(if you introduce yourself as a Kenyan) why is Kibaki killing his people. For the first time in my life, I feel ashamed and regret to be a Kenyan.

  155. Otsiatso says:

The very first thing now is to stop the violence that is claiming lives of fellow Kenyans. The country is bleeding and that has to be stopped. ODM must take the lead and not for the govt. The govt. does not care about its people.
Please ODM send emmissaries to the war areas and ask our supporters to stop the killing and looting against kikuyus.
    PLEASE!!!

  156. kENYAN says:

    Raila is a Muderor Coward.
The blood of the innocent kenyans who had to lose their life are in your hands.
    The return of Idi Amin.
    God bless Kenya.

  157. Tet says:

Could someone please tell kibaki to step down and let peace prevail, let the will of people be respected , this is the only way people will calm down.

  158. zizi says:

I totally agreee with you Otsiatso. I even suggest that the Pentagon can do another round of meeting suporters across those areas and urging them not to attack fellow Kenyans. I believe they will be listened to more than the Government.

In fact, what the Kibaki team should do is to provide ODM all the support neccesary to move around and address the situation as opposed to threatening them with arrests.

Please Pentagon, let us take initiative, move out from nairobi and get into the conflict areas and dialogue with supporters. That way, Kibaki’s legitimacy will really be undermined because he cannot convince kenyans.

Now, the interesting rigging plots. I got this from the BBC:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/07/africa_enl_1199201515/html/1.stm
The fixing of the 0 is so obvious it is a foreign insertion. The handwrting of the person is very cherecteristic and follows a certain pattern. That zero falls out of that pattern.

    Violence must stop.

  159. Amani says:

Kenyans should not accept to be incited by anyone. Raila and Kibaki and cohorts have all the protection that they need. And we the people, those who voted continue to Kill and be Killed. What a shame… We must shun all the violence. Why Kill innocent women and children…. Just because one person is ruling and not the other.

What is the price of democracy? Death for innocent civilians who exercised their Constitutional rights. Let us be careful what whe say in this blog.

Kibaki and Raila and their families are protected, have the highest security the land can provide. What do you have? What happens when you are met by police or the rowdy politicians? Do you think they will protect us?

My heart bleeds in pain for the civilians. Let us make our points in Non-violent ways. It works people, it does; see what Gandhi did.

  160. Amani says:

Let us try preaching Peace and NOT VIOLENCE

  161. tnk says:

    i think first things first.
those directly responsible for the mess should be named starting with where things went wrong i.e provide list of all ECK officials including the names of the presiding officers, the supervisors and commissioners and the designated duty stations they were responsible for. These are public servants and therefore are answerable to the public. We do not want kangaroo courts but they should be immediately be required to appear before commission of local and international observers and confirm, validate or clarify the anomalies reported. They should also be made to understand that their decisions/indecision collusion/honesty or incompetence/professionalism is the reason Kenyans (men, women and children) from poor and modest backgrounds are now being killed. If they have any compassion at all for society to stand up and tell the truth.

  162. zizi says:

    Amani,

I can feel your anchor. But we cannot work without our leaders. Afterall it was our passion for good leaders that has pitied us against each other. The question here now is what is good leadership? In this circumstance, a good leader, in our case Pentago, should organise on how to hold dialogues with supporters who are angry of a rigged election. We cannot do without them.

  163. tnk says:

if a govt can deply thousands of troops to kill and maim hundreds of kenyans, i suggest the first process even before starting off with truth and reconciliation is assemble all the agents and ECK officers and a count verification/validation process be established. commission reads out the numbers aloud for each polling station. have the ECK presiding officer display a YES , NO, NOT SURE or whatever, then move on to PNU, ODM, ODM-K agents etc. this is not a court process just validation. where there are no anomalies or numbers errors are less than 2.5% for the polling station can be discarded. This not about about engaging in a shouting match, just identify where the anomalies appear. compile list where gross anomalies reported. and start from there. lets not try to make this rocket science. its a minor logistical process that can be quickly achieved

  164. karanja kamau says:

    LETS SHOW LEADERSHIP!

I have posted comments here before which were pro democracy, but i can’t believe what’s happening.

1.How can young children and women get burned in the church, it’s not like these people were demonstrating or anything. How comes it’s only one tribe which gets the raw deal in elections? I have said this before and i will say it again many kikuyus are pooor and will remain poorer in the next 5 years.

2.I’m also tired for the leaders who say they are democrat while always use
hatred in there campaigns, that’s why one tribe is being targeted because they have been made to believe that one tribe is the cause of all problems in kenya.

  167. Omuto says:

    Otsiatso,
I want you to understand that right now as I blog (1st January, 8:11pm), over twelve (12) people so far (in Kakamega alone) have died as a result of the ongoing violence. Of all the twelve, only one is a Kikuyu. The rest are Luos and a few Luhyas. The Kikuyu was hacked to death by irate wananchi while the rest were shot by police. There is a white double-cabin GK pick-up (I guess from the Ministry of Agriculture) making rounds in Kakamega Town with about six Kikuyu police officers, a black maria with a shattered back screen with at least two Kikuyus. These are the merchants of death, responsible for all the eleven plus shootings!!!

It’s quite baffling to hear that out of the over fifty cold-blood murder victims in a Kisumu mortuary, three are very young children, all with bullet wounds. Who is behind these well-planned innocent blood executions? I have no information on the Nairobi killings because I’ve been and I am in Kakamega for the last two weeks, though we’re yet to know why armed GSU officers are guarding a city mortuary. Right now, army officers (from Uganda am told) have been dispatched to Kisumu to SHOOT & KILL revolting civilians. isn’t this killing a fly with a sledge hammer? All Kikuyu brothers are getting police protection, with only their properties (part of it) being vandalized and set ablaze. Part of it because the rest is enjoying police custody. I have a good number of Kikuyu friends, but Otsiatso, I want you to understand that a good number of them are DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE OF PROPERTY, because of their innuendos. Utterances such as “these Luhyas are very stupid. They have nothing of their own, even their boda boda bicycles are ours, we simply hire them out to them. No wonder they’re jealous thus setting them on fire.” These words were spoken by a Kikuyu friend while seeking refuge in Kakamega Police Station yesterday. What else do you call tribal outbursts?

So, Otsiatso, just like you, we all want the violence to stop. But I want you to understand that somebody somewhere is on Michuki’s payroll to ensure that the whole thing is painted a “Luo” and thus a “Raila affair”, especially the mayhem and killings in the country. No one is paying attention to Mombasa, Eldoret, Molo and Kuresoi but all eyes are fixed on our neighbour Kisumu or if it is Nairobi, the Luos in Kibera.

I want you and any other right thinking blogger to realize that Kibaki, through his cronies like Michuki, Stanley Murage and Martha Karua have a black agenda for this country, and are responsible for the mess we’re in right now. Jack Tumwa and friends should stop shedding crocodile tears because they know very well that once sworn in, it takes a miracle for the president ‘elect’ to step down. Tumwa and company should understand that you cant eat your cake and have it. So Tumwa, please save us from the useless PR you are now playing.

  168. tnk says:

    karanja

we all hear you and thats what many of us tried in these blogs to identify with the issues and injustices facing all kenyans.

i have posted before. ECK presiding officers, clerks and commissioners are directly responsible for the current unrest. their names need be listed and made to understand the full import of their actions. life is full of ironies and i would not be surprised if some of these public servants have relatives that have directly been adversley affected by the resultant violence. it is shameful.

karanja, leave the tribal component out of your statement and lets all understand that kenyans are dying in nairobi, coast, rift valley, nyanza and western and condemn the deaths as well as the events and root cause of the problems leading to this sad state of affairs.

  169. Shaqmaya says:

OPADO YOU ARE RIGHT: BOB MARLEY SANG, YOU CAN CHEAT THE PEOPLE, BUT YOU CANT CHEAT THEM ALL THE TIME. FIRST IT WAS THE CONSTITUTION THAT HE PROMISED US IN 2002, THEN THE MOU. NOW HE WANNA CHEAT US WITH PRESIDENCY?????? NO WAY !!!!!

  170. Simon says:

    mwizi kibaki must go!

  171. zizi says:

Hey guys, I know how painful it is to be identified with your tribe. It is a bad thing to use tribe as an excuse. Those who are carrying out wanton killings esp on the kikuyu brothers have no time to read what we blog here. They r being driven by passions and not rationale. But once you step at this blog, before you key down, you ought to bring out the best solutions and rant again what is being done on the street. When people behave in a certain way, you do not just follow. Be careful. What is the point here?

It is bad to kill children and women even in times of war. It doesnt matter whether you re a gang or official police officer. Restraint is the guiding principle. There is no way Omuto we are going to allow violence or should allow ourselves to think like those who offend us.

Values of democracy are there to stay. But leaders of democracy expire. It is not my tribe that made me join the Orange movement but the ideals of democracy. So Karanja, I believe you and me are still on this course despite the events around us.

Please guys, watch out. You cannot generalise a community as evil. Only stupid people do so. I believe that man can allow his mind to go beyond the scope of his skin color and the confines of his ethnic brain. I have done so, and that why I am where I am and speak as such. Let us stand out for one another. Those are the values of ODM.

I repeat again, that RAO and the Pentagon should take initiative to make round rallies under the support of government to ensure that further violence is not experiened. I am told Ruto has been on Kass Fm talking to people int the Rift Valley. That is just the first step I guess.

Hey guys, we need a peaceful year ahead of us. We must support the “end violence campaign.”

  172. ken says:

I feel for those that were killed in the church its really painful. If Kibaki cares for anything, he should resign and Michuki charged with crimes against humanity. His officers who are predominately Kikuyu are shooting people in Kisumu, Eldoret and kakamega. When will this madness end. He stole the election, the only decent thing to do is resign, otherwise I call on all Kenyans to stand up and protest until he steps down. And Kibaki if you are reading this or any of your agents we are charging you with crimes against Humanity, so enjoy your rest, but we are taking you to the Hague!! You cannot sit in isolation and send new year wishes to a people with no food or shelter, your troops are killing people in Kisumu indiscriminately!! How can you justify shooting children under 10 years! did they shoot back at you?!! I once again urge our brothers and sisters in the military and police, to please ignore these orders to rain bloodshed on your fellow citizens!!!

  173. Shaqmaya says:

As Omuto puts it down that only Kikuyu pölicemen are on the mission to shoot down Kenyans, Where are the other security officers from other tribes like Luos, Kalenjins, Luhya and etc? it is time that they revolt against this bogus government. Its time that they say NO you cant kill our people like that. Its time that they show their patriotisim and stand tall with the people, It is time that they show us that they are not cowards. Its time they pick up arms and rain that double cabin pick up and black maria with bullets. I am crying !! where are you our brothers in the forces. How long will you wait and watch the atrocity practised on your brothers, sisters, cousins, kids and etc. please tell me howwww longgggggggg

  174. Baziel says:

All Kenyans must realize that one man team is out to change kenya from what it is. More blood is shed and we should be prepared for some more awaiting. The kenyatta era that led to the elimination of prominent Luos such as Tom mboya is here. Now there is a foul play by the Govt to turn the whole scenario into Luo – Kikuyu matter and more killing is going on unreported now since media is anything in the past.

Any peace loving kenyan must come out to condemn Kibaki, be it kIkuyu or otherwise. else, democracy which we all have enjoyed will be long gone.

  175. mumias says:

The sentiment coming out here is that we should not get drawn into tribal backlash. We should not forget that some kikuyu young brothers and sisters who joined our wagon of change not based on tribal affiliation but because they believe in CHANGE!!

Now it does sadden me that Kenya is fast disintegrating and if we are not careful we could slip into a situation that will be beyond our control. As Raila said, how is he meant to speak to his supporters if the media has been gaged!! Although I strongly feel that the leaders exercise restraint and perhaps tone down their hawkish conotations for the time being. This however does not mean we should accept the results, far from it. I believe that acceptance will merely set a very bad precedent for future elections. If ODM concedes what stops the same thing in 2012 occuring because remember it will still be staffed with Kibaki cronies. SO THIS IS NOT AN OPTION. The people spoke and their voices should be heard.

Sierra Leon was similarly faced with a similar situation as in Kenya. Faced with an opposition who had won, the government tried to gag the electoral commission not to announce the results even trying to impose a court order. However the chairman a woman did not bow to the pressure and went ahead and announced the true result.
My point here is She did the right thing, Kivuithu DID NOT. he bucked his responsibility and now you can see his conscience is tearing him apart and this is the case with all the 22 ECK Commissioners.

What next? Well I feel that the pressure is mounting and mounting heavily on Kibaki. However I feel that the ODM stance should not lead to a closing of any exist strategy that MK might want to take up. I believe they have to soften their stance and thus give Kibaki a way out. During the Cuban missile crisis, it is the when Kennedy softened his stance which allowed Khrushchev to save face and be able to find a way out of a crisis.

One possible solution is for Kibaki to fire all electoral commissioners in ECK, and then ask all parties to recomend people to appoint into a new commission. Kibaki can then declare an independent review including both external parties such as the commonwealth and other observers to determine what and who was responsible. He should then announce that upon the public review, if the findings found irregularities in the tallying then he will call for fresh elections to be conducted under new ECK represented by all party appointees.
This way, although Kibaki knows he will lose, he will have appeared to have defused the tension and also been able to save face by not having resigned due to pressure from the opposition but will then hand over power under a more acceptable solution for all parties.

  176. kip says:

ODM SHOULD NOT GIVE UP THE FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS. LETS DO IT AS RAILA SAYS , PEACEFULLY.

SOMEBODY HAS TO STAND UP FOR THE RIGHTS OF MILLIONS OF KENYANS IN THE COUNTRY AND ABROAD.

RAILA AND ODM. GOD BLESS YOU

  177. joey says:

    KENYA IS FALLING INTO DESTRUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  178. Otsiatso says:

No people, it is not that simple. Here how I see it. The violence by the govt. is bound to end BUT it will also fan more ethnic hatred. A lot has been said about Kikuyu cops – at this time we do not know, it is a “rumor”, unfortunatley it is planting the seed for more violence.

Having said that, it is the neighbor to neighbor violence that is more insidious. It is the kind that is hard to stop. It is that which worries me even more. No one life is more precious than the other and I agree with Omuto on much of his sentiment. Yet, there is something viscerally evil when people can go to a church or any building for that matter and set it on fire with humans in it.

I would highly recommend for anyone to read this account from Rwanda for that is what it reminds me.
We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families: Stories from Rwanda: Philip Gourevitch.
    ———————
Omuto I agree with you 100%, that there is one myth which Kenyans have transcended and that this is a Luos vs. Kikuyus thing. To be brutallly honest it is Kenya divided between GEMA and other groups. From my safe harbor, I do not think Kibaki gets it. In case he does, I believe they are convinced that if they can just sit it out a little longer things will calm and kazi will go on.

  179. tnk says:

the chaos is not ODMs fault. its Kivuitu and the ECK staff who should technically go round the country appeasing people.
Why should Raila go round teh country cleaning up Kivuitu’s Michuki’s, Kibaki’s mess ups.

I appreciate that ODM pentagon members are taking the intitiative to calm people down. We need immediate action on an illegitimate govt and not long winded commissions taking months.

its easy to present vote tallies in a forum and identify where in the electoral process the breakdowns occurred. also identify presiding officers that deliberately circumvented ECK procedures of vote tallying. the mistakes happened with specific presiding officers and also much later in the main ECK control center. Find those specific people and publish their names

  180. Sam says:

Everyone is right, but politics is about utilizing opportunities. I mentioned earlier that Raila and the Pentagon should Demonstrate Leadership and I believe the time is now.
The Country is leaderless right now, any semblence of leadership left is Raila and the Pentagon.
If they manage to defuse the VIOLENCE the political mileage will be enormous AND ITS ALSO THE RIGHT THING TO DO. PERIOD.
As for Kibaki his legacy is “CORRUPTION” and no one will ever question Raila on that. Just read Macharia Gaitho,s Commentary in the Daily Nation, Jan. 1 2008.
ODM must never let Kibaki of the hook. We should also warn any political party that may want to join PNU that 5 years is a very short time, their Waterloo is coming.
Peacefully the country must become ungovernable for Kibaki , all Kenyans of Goodwill must join this struggle. CIVIL STRIKE IS THE ONLY WAY OUT.
Raila must request business owners to sacrifice. They must remain closed until Kibaki is driven out. This will be Painful especially to the Poor majority. Independence, costed lives. Multiparty costed lives and this will cost lives so that the future generations will be FREE.
Nothing should MOVE in Kenya until Kibaki is out.
It may be hard to get Central Kenya to join in this struggle but where will they sell their wares, products or produce.
Let this be the last time that any Kenyan leader will ever Play with our freedom to choose our Leaders.
ODM dont quite, dont give in, dont compromise. Kibaki must Leave or we go back to the Polls. PERIOD……….

    Agent4change,
Have you guys abandoned this site.
Kivuitu has admitted he only announced the results under pressure and he knew all the short comings.
What is ODM going to do?
He also said that the undue pressure was coming from PNU and ODM-Kenya can someone explain. Did Kalonzo influence Kivuitu as a way of denying ODM the ELECTIONS?
    Can someone Write something.

  182. Kanyeka says:

I swear to myself and I know majority will agree with me that my president is Raila. The fourth president of Kenya is Raila Amolo Odinga!!!!

  183. Omuto says:

There is a total misconception of ides here. I’m calling for sobriety and rationale in our blogging. Lets not misunderstand each other. Let me put things clear here.

I’m a born again Christian thus life is automatically sacred to me. When I therefore point out what’s happening on the ground, it doesn’t mean that I support it. There’s a big difference between reporting whats on the ground and giving your opinion or judgment on what is happening right there. We all know that no sane ODM supporter has the savage mentality of perpetrating tribal connotations in words and deeds. We stand for democracy, and real democracy indeed. (Zizi, are you reading meMimias, I want you to understand that my version of Kikuyu policemen killing Luhyas and Luos in Kakamega is not based on rumours, my dear. Am right on the ground and that’s exactly what’s happening. Get me right:-
FICTION: All Kikuyu police officers are shooting dead every Luo, Luhya, Kalenjin
and Teso they see in sight.
FACT:- Three quaters of the bullet victims in Kakamega town are Luhyas and
Luos, shot down by well known Kikuyu police officers in town.
Remember, they could be having a good reason to do that. Could be something to do with scaring away the violence perpetrators who happen to be mainly Luos and Luhyas. When I say these, for heavens sake, does it mean that I support tribal atrocities???

Suffice to say that. The loser in the just concluded general election is not Raila and the Pentagon, but Kenyans as a whole. We voted for Raila but the ECK gave us Kibaki. Mistake number one. Mistake No. 2 is that Michuki, Stanley Murage (Strategist or tragedyst)and Martha Karua (Legal misadviser) thought that once the ECK have announced the results, then they become useless and the courts have to carry the day. Mistake No. 3 is that Kibaki imagines that things wil cool down very first and business will go on as usual. Mistake No. 4, which I see all of us here imagining that it will be a solution. That Raila can quell the prevailing bloodshed.

Solution? Because Kenyans feel cheated and robbed of their selection, not even Raila can stop them. Its a good avenue to take, i.e. the Pentagon talking to their people, but I assure you, it will be the slowest healing process ever. THE BEST IS FOR KIBAKI TO HAND OVER THE LEADERSHIP TO THE RIGHTFULLY ELECTED PRESIDENT. Michuki and his cronies should be arrested and charged with crime against humanity. The ECK should be charged too and eventually shown the door. ALL OF THEM, THE ECK. Anything short of these is wishful thinking. Voters are not kids and their right has to be given to them. If Kibaki knew that he was going to rig his way back, then he wouldnt have asked his opponents to campain nor the Kenyans to go to the ballot. He would have assumed power from the word go. We feel misused, short-changed and fooled. The passion in people has turned sour and thus the wanton destruction of property.

I know somebody wants me to say something like “hey guys, lets stop the chaos. This is our country. We burn it down, we have no spare part for it and we are the ones to suffer.” That’s okay, but merely a belated PR exercise that sounds sweet in the ears of foreign investors and others. That’s dealing with the symptom and not the root cause of the problem. thats why such cries from our religious leaders (I wonder where they were on 27th before the mess) and other late comers are falling on deaf ears. The use of police force merely aggravates the whole issue instead of cooling the matter. Very soon Kenyans will be immune to the gunshots, heavy police presence and the running battles. Michuki is training Kenyans to be hardcore survivors and end of day, Kenya will be another Rwanda and Pakistan. KIBAKI, STOP THE WAR.

  184. Dr. J. Were Onundu says:

    Dear Raila,
after scrutinising the percentage vote tally, I could not believe that with over 70% gain in Rift Valley and even the tally from Western Province and Nyanza, you could lose this election. This is thievery, robbery for the Kenyan people must be stopped. Do not be swayed by anybody to relent. AU, Commonwealth, the US, Britain all have specific agenda of their own. Kenya I believe is ours and the problem is bigger than the hidden interests of this groups.
ODM must continue because cheating and let go will be desastrast in long term. Vote rigging is a crime and is not allowed and is punishable. Scrutiny and investigation must be the answer to the election result. It can be done politically, outside the courts and resolved. Please, please do not give up.

  185. Amani says:

How many of us bloggers live in the slums? In Kibera, Mathare and other slums in other towns? That is where the killing is taking place. Ooooooh i am sure you know that by now.

The majority people are UNEMPLOYED or Extremely Low income earners. They are being used by the politicians all in the name of Democracy. What is my point? We are sitting in the comforts of our homes as we watch the violence and directly or indirectly incite and support what is happening. Some of the bloggers are out of the country so AGAIN let us not support VIOLENCE.

Don’t get me wrong i do not condone how ECK handled their business. Both PNU and ODM are to blame for the skirmishes and for the electoral fraud. There were irregularities in the strongholds of each of the parties strongholds as reported in the Newspaper. However, the most important issue now is to contain and eradicate the violence.

Meanwhile, let us watch from our houses as the poor fight for ‘our democracy’. Some newspaper once said that the presidential elections are between the rich and the rich. We the poor only feature to cast the votes and to Fight for the Democracy of the middle and high class.

  186. Mudekhere Owiti Silas says:

    Amani,

First of all I want to tell you loud and clear that am not sitting in the ‘comfort’ of my home while ‘kenyans are dying!!! I completely refuse to believe that ODM is responsible for the violence. If you chose to know, I voted in Budalangi, and only later in the evening managed to escape Raphael Wanjala’s shot that killed my cousine ON THE SPOT!!

Secondly, I managed to escape to Kisumu, arriving at around midnight to arrange for finances for burial expences. At some point, when the results started streaming in, I knew I fought a good fight to make RAO president; SO THAT Kenya can be a better place to live in, and that politics can be fairer and cleaner…BUT ALAS!!! Kibaki decides to STEAL my right. I never ate a thing from from Saturday evening upto yesterday Tuesday January 1st!! I was holed up in my house in Milimani (Kisumu) for 4 good days because any sight of a Luhya, Luo trying to go to any nearby shop met teargas and LIVE bullets! What had I done to warrant all that? My brothers in Kakamega were so worried about me but they could not even dare come for me…not because of the wanainchi rioting…BUT because of the POLICE!!!

I escaped yesterday to try and find food…I walked about 22 Kilometres towards Kakamega. I was arrested by the police and I told them…they had two options…If they believe I am a trouble maker, they can as well go ahead and shoot me dead as they did to the others OR put me in avehicle to Kakamega, to re-assure my family that am alive. I know some bit of Kikamba….THAT SAVED ME!!!

Now, where did we go wrong? I refuse to believe that this country is tribal. The government has tried so much to paint it as such but we can stop them. The ECK brought us to this level. Kivuitu says Maina Kiai called him four times, he ignored. Kiayi is a Kisuyu…Ruto, Orengo, Kwach, Kosgey etc pleaded with Kivuitu but, they turned a deaf ear. By the way, why is it too painful when a Kikuyu dies and not when others die??? Please guys, I lost a very fresh young graduate teacher for this democracy we are fighting for. I will ACCEPT NOTHING LESS.

Finally, If we keep quiet…the ‘so called piece’….Raila will come in and do the same mistake Kibaki is doing. WE MUST make our leaders accountable…beggining with ECK officials, then Kibaki and his cronies. Did you hear his ministers? How do you negotiate with such arrogant people?

I am not bitter, BUT we must stop STEALIng so Raila can also be warned not to do a similar thing when he gets to POWER!!

  187. Amani says:

    Dear Owiti,

It pains me to follow what you had to go through, this is sad for a country that has gained a lot in democracy. Pole sana for the loss of your cousin. My point earlier is that some people in the blog are in the US and UK and will not be shot at when the bullets or the machetes come flying and therefore i strong feel that we should not use this blog to incite others.

I emphasize that the most important thing right now is to curtail the violence. I agree with you that we should not keep quiet because future leaders will repeat the same, and that is an excellent point. But through vilence both from the civilians and the police will not solve anything. It will be like bandaging a wound without cleaning it. We must deal with the violence first and then people will sober up to be able to reason together and forge way for our beautiful country. I don’t care how they do it as long as no more lives are lost.

  188. daddy says:

My HIV+ Mom, 3 brothers and 2 sisters, live in a slum like house at Kabete. As I write this, we have vacated our house after our neighbor lost 4 of her sons. And you know what? We have vowed to attend the rally on 3rd. If you trully want piece, let us get justice first otherwise we shall forever remain tribal. It might be my last post, and if you never hear from me again, it is because of the democracy Kenya will be enjoying in my absence.

  189. Otsiatso says:

Kenyans will not, no, will never accept Kibaki as president. Why is it that when things are not going well for them – then the Kibakis and Michuki’s and Kimunya’s of this world all of a sudden realize that Kenya is ours But when things are going well, then it is,”Mtafanya nini, mpend msipende”

The pressure must be kept on.

  190. tnk says:

just seen kibaki has declined offer by african union boss. he simply does not want to be told the truth.

he has to be forced to step down. dear kenyans we need a new strategy that does not promote the current violence seen, but is forceful enough to make him step down. as expected some greedy MPs from PNU, KANU, SAFINA and possibly ODM-K have met with the fraudulent president we have to know who these MPs are and take collective action against them. as I’ve said before. ECK is responsible for the mess in the country

  191. kijogoo says:

why is that we want to treat the symptoms and ignore the real cause of the problem. we should adress the underlying cause of all this mayhem.? why is that the people in the illigitimate government underestimsting kenyans. Have they still not learned the lesson in the just concluded general election .Kenya cannot be governed by one ethnic group. Kenya belongs to all the forty plus communities.

  192. An asian friend says:

Hello all from Canada. It saddens me and many people like me who hail from Kenya, to see what is happening to you all there. If you are upset about the elections, then fight with your mighty mouths, not machetes or guns or even fists. Have peaceful demonstrations, if you must, but dialogue is the way to conquer, not hate, not killing. After all, Kenya is yours, not only for Kikuyus, not only for the luos, but for all Kenyans, not matter what colour, race or creed they are. Can’t you all get that! See what has happened elsewhere in Africa, where there is tribal war. Or for that matter in other parts of the world as well. You will not prosper, Kenyans will get nowhere if they don’t co-operate and come together as one. There is no hope for any country that has this type of division. Look at Canada, we all live here peacefully, hundreds of different kinds of people. We respect each other’s faith, religion, colour, etc. You must learn from example. Don’t kill each other just because you are different. Instead come together and resolve your problems. I know it’s easier said then done, but if you all could just think along these lines, you could make Kenya the Canada of Africa. Give it a try and stop spearding hate. Take care you all. I pray you all resolve your differences without any more bloodshed.

  193. Felo says:

I hope the pentagon and our secretariat have the copies of Form 16A safe somewhere because as i write the forms are being re-sign by ECK returning officers. That is the forms for disputed areas. Can Orange family air this tomorrow.

  194. Shaqmaya says:

Amani let me tell you, Kenyans in Diaspora are not having it easy as you might think. Our kids are being teased at school how primitive Kenyans are, that they cant even hold a peaceful election by themselves, in the offices our workmates wonder how myopic minded we are to slaughter one another. And all these, just because someone is brazenly robbing Kenyans of their rights in a broad daylight and more worse, still behaving nonchalantly as if nothing is happening in the country.I do not condone these macabre atrocity rocking the republic, but “a peoples right is peoples right” and Kibaki ought to step down and give Kenyans what they want, and that is change, instead of sendind his hit squad to the streets.

  195. An asian friend says:

  197. Amani says:

Thought i should share this article from Standard and Nation

    SAVE OUR BELOVED COUNTRY

Our beloved country, the Republic of Kenya, is a burnt-out, smouldering ruin. The economy is at a virtual standstill and the armies of destruction are on the march in the Rift Valley and other places.

In the midst of this, leaders — who are the direct cause of this catastrophe — are issuing half-hearted calls for peace, from the comfort of their hotels and walled homes in Nairobi, whence they are conveyed in bullet-proof limousines.

It is unbelievable foolishness for Kenyans to destroy their economy, their homes and their entire way of life in the name of politics and on behalf of people whose lives of comfort and luxury are going on normally.

The media in Kenya today propose to be forthright and united in confronting this bloodshed and disunity in the country.

    Right to life

There is no cause and no right more valuable than the right to life.

Political leaders on both sides must be told in no uncertain terms that they are currently in great danger of losing their credibility in the eyes of Kenyans and the international community because of systematic killing of the innocent sweeping Kenya, destruction of the economy and the spread of disaffection throughout the land.

No grievance and no cause is worth the innocent blood of Kenyan children. The orgies of looting, burning, rape and wanton, well-orchestrated blood-letting are undermining the moral basis of the politicians’ cause.

Those in authority must not have more regard for their — tenuous — grip on power than lives and property.
It must be a blind and deaf person who does not hear the cries of the 70,000 people, many of them our children, who are now refugees in their own country.

A final opportunity now presents itself for the political leadership to pull the country back from the brink and help restore the public’s confidence and sense of safety.

Tough talk, grand-standing and empty point-scoring is not getting the nation anywhere. The moment has come to isolate the hard-liners on both sides and to allow the voices of reason to be heard across the political divide.

Negotiations cannot take place, and probably drag on, as Kenyans are slaughtered and the country burns. The first objective, therefore, is to secure the safety of all Kenyans. Let those with armies call them back, let those fanning the fires stamp them out so that an environment is created for constructive dialogue.

The priority now is for leaders — if at all they are interested in their own credibility and in saving the lives of Kenyans and the country as a whole — to get out of their meeting rooms and into the countryside and preach peace and patience to their supporters.

Kenyans expect to see Mr Raila Odinga leading a peace mission to Kondele and other troubled parts of Kisumu and Nyanza in general. They expect to see Mr William Ruto and Mr Henry Kosgey at the head of an effort in the Rift Valley, restoring peace and calm. They expect President Kibaki to come out and calm the passions in Dandora, Huruma and other volatile parts of Nairobi.

It is only with the restoration of peace that reason will prevail.

But there can be no lasting peace without justice. It is therefore important for President Kibaki and Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga to enter into immediate negotiations on the disputed elections and arrive at a solution that both sides can live with. The hard-line positions, such as demanding the President’s immediate resignation or the refusal to accept questions raised over the presidential election results, are not very helpful at the moment.

More middle-ground positions that should be explored could include a power-sharing arrangement.

The second option is the creation of an interim government excluding both Mr Kibaki and Mr Odinga, and a time-table for fresh presidential elections under a reformed electoral process.

The question yet to be resolved is whether an exhausted country nearing a state of civil war can survive another presidential election.
After the restoration of peace and the reaching of a political agreement, the truth about what went on in this election needs to be established, publicised and used to strengthen our democratic institutions.

There is an urgent need for an open and thorough public inquiry to determine the veracity of rigging allegations which have been raised by ODM, PNU and international observers.

Equally, it would be utter madness to try and go to an election with the same discredited Electoral Commission and election procedures. The ECK must be overhauled, and the laws and procedures of casting, counting and tallying votes made tamper-proof.

Kenya must be prepared to invest billions of shillings in technology and processes to guarantee the integrity of future elections.

The following should be done for kenya to ever grow with peace and economic prosperity for all.

    1. Deregulate all vernacular radio stations, only news so that old people
who cannot read or write can be informed. Call in shows should only be
    done in swahili or english.
2.Devolution of the goverment wealth equitably by decentralization of the govt.
This should be done very carefully because people still believe some parts of
kenya are only for specific tribes, hence the worry about majimbo.
3.This one is for all loving and caring kenyans.Let me say one thing which is
always mistaken ,politicians will never make you rich just because they
    are from your tribe.
