    Dear Blogmaster,

There are so many things hapenning on the kenyan fora that are best left to those lower minds(apologies to the offended). Infact taking time to comment on them is sometimes a drain on your resources. A good example is the alleged “Obiero” having an interview with Raila. The good news is that nobody ever buys those stories. In other words, they dont stick. Nope!! We have not been successful in buying them.

They are best left to the gutter.

I hapen to have been born outside kenya and I didnt get kenyan politics at all. My dad, british, has business interests in kenya and because he was always on the kenyan sites(surfing etc etc) most of the time, I asked him what he loved about the country apart from his business interest. He said to begin with, he loved my mum whom he met while leaving in Nanyuki ages ago.

So he fell in love with the kenya and her diversity especially the people.

His advice was that the best place to start when you want to learn a people and what makes them tick is their politics. So he recommended one person. Raila, yes Raila Odinga. That was eight years ago and little did he(my dad) know that he handed me a 1st(thats what my lecturer think – especially if I stick to the guidelines) on on the title on my desertation.

    A very interesting guy indeed.

When my desertation is done, I will send you a copy of this exams assignment. My request is that I do wish to still remain anonymous.

You are not my mum’s cup of tea, but recently she has been talking positively about you and your candidature. That makes my dad the wise man.

Well, on the “Obiero” subject, something similar was on George Washington and Winston Churchil. Be ready for the worst sir and all the best.

I also know you are an avid reader. Why not try this book if you havent read it before:

experiment at work – explosions and experiences at the most frightening company on earth by andy law

  2. Phil says:

Blog Admin, am sorry but I dont agree with your ‘were in control’ story about the voter roll in Langata. Perhaps you are not aware of massive voter importation from central province into Langata?

Question is: How about the vote buying that goes on in Ngong Hills Hotel and at the 3 Wheels Hotel every week? How about the conduct of electoral commission officers at Nyayo House? Is it true that a duplicate register has been prepared to fix Raila.

Please please, its high time the pentagone took this issue of the voter register for Langata very seriously. In as much as we all try to be democrats, I personally will NOT be able to stomach a Livondo victory in Langata. Heri nirudi reserve.

As for Obiero, I read it and dismissed it at the 3rd interview question. Anyone who believes that interview does not know Kenya.

  3. shaqmaya says:

I assume that ODM, as the most popular party in Kenya, has got a well organised, competent and relyable security network who are monitoring any attempts to manipulate the voter registration lists in all pentagon members constituencies. Hon Raila was recently quoted telling people to forget about Livondo, he is just a piece of rubbish. I believe he was compelled to say that just to calm ODM supporters and he wont do that when he was aware that his constituency was in jeopardy of vote rigging. Anyway Kudos to you phil for bringing the crime going on in Ngong and wheels hotel into the light. Lets hope that our agents will deal with that matter.

  4. tnk says:

    i agree with Phil.

ODM should conduct speedy investigations to ascertain what has happened in Pentagon member constituencies. They should purchase the “original” voter manifest and have it readily available to counter these moves. Lets face it, PNU is utterly unscrupulous and will now go to any lengths to destroy votes. THye now know there is completely no chance of winning this election, and have therefore turned into mass spoilers. And I’m sure this will be closely followed by massive looting or crippling of key economic or administraive sectors. Lets not deceive ourselves, they will.

ODM needs to urgently engage the services of current members who have previously served in intelligence and partner with members of law enforcement (although they are public servants serving the government of the day, I’m certain a great number of them are ODM supporters) to decisively put an end to this vote buying practice and immediately put to shame those found to be engaging in the practice. Providing evidence complete with the sources will bring to light what is truly going on and I’m sure the MPs (in PNU) and the campaign organizers once brought to the light will most definitely get a thorough thrashing form their true supporters. No upright Kenyan voter in his/her right mind wants to be associated with people trying to dupe others and it doesn’t matter from what region they are from. Once exposed, all these people will automatically loose support. THis is a most serious matter.

ODM has in the past allowed what appeared to be trivial matters blossom into near catastrophes such as the matter of registered officials that lead to the hostage game with the SKM group. Take no chances, and if it is discovered that the rot is deep and cannot be rectified, move on to plan B as fast as possible.

  5. Abdullah says:

ODM supporters both locally and abroad are worried about Langata and other ODM Pentagon constituencies. This is a SERIOUS case and ODM supporters would like to inform the Pentagon that any laxity in dealing with this danger will not be acceptable as it will break the hearts of ODM supporters. Some may commit suicide if the unexpected happens in Langata. Better be informed now.

I’m a Somali who knows about his people and North Eastern Province. I would like to tell ODM leaders about to they can win over the populace in that province.

    1. Repeat the terrorism card. Tell Northers (Somalis) why Mungiki or Chinkororo is not a terrorist organisation but only them. Tell them that this means they hate Islam and Muslims, which is TRUE by the way.
    2. Re-visit the Massacres that happened in Garissa, Wajir and Mandera. When in Wajir for Campaigns, ask the locals how comes Minister Mohamed Abdi is supporting Kibaki, yet Kibaki was the vice-president when the Wagalla Massacre occurred. Tell them that when NARC came to power, it was Kiraitu who refused to open the Wagalla massacre file, yet it is the same government that wants their support. Remind them that that’s treachery and betrayal, and it is indeed.
    3. Tell them by closing the Somali-Kenya border, the Kibaki government wanted to cripple the Kenyan Somali economy. Remember, Kenyan Somalis trade with fellow Somalis more than they do with Kenyans, so DON’T take this issue lightly. They hold it DEAR.
    4. Tell that Kibaki’s government has harassed the Kenyan Somalis and also refused to help the Somali refugees, which is against Humanitarian laws. THIS is a BIG issue for Kenyan Somalis. It made them angry that Kibaki and Tuju refused to help the Somali refugees who flew from the wars in Somalia. Tell them that a Raila government will do the necessary. 5. Ask them if Kibaki has fulfilled the promises he made to them like building the Garissa-Mandera road? Remind them that the 20km strech which is being built now from Garissa to Madogashe is a election gimmic and slander to them. Remind them about the Wajir Airport and how Kibaki has failed to honour his promise. Tell them he is playing politics of expediency by saying that he will upgrade it now. Ask them whhy has KIbaki government given Nyeri 800 million for water projects, yet an ASAL province like NEP was given 4 million. REPEAT this 10 times till it sinks in their minds.
    6. Ask the locals why didn’t the Kibaki government fulfilled the promises it made to the locals after Hon. Ahmed Khalif died like building a school in his honour, a library, a memorial park, etc. To betray the dead is a SIN, tell them.
    7. Tell them that Kibaki has been in the Kenyan politics since 1963 and there is nothing he has brought them, remind them that he belongs to the Forces of Hatred (the old elite, Somalis hate these ones), and therefore his hate mentality against them is eternal. Mtoto wa nyoka ni nyoka is a favourite proverb in NEP. Mention few times.
    8. Explain your vision for the province. As you do these: please read it and make it clear so that they can memorise what has been said. As yopu do this, capitalise on the failures of Kibaki in regard of NEP and also his NEP ministers like Mohamded Abdi who is loathed by Somalis and Muslims.
    9. Greet them in the Islamic way and Raila and the Pentagon must dress like the locals and also should memorise few Somali words like greetings. It will build a better bond as they take in ODM leaders to be their trie representative. ODM leaders shouldn’t visit any NEP constituency without Billow Kerrow, he is the most liked and loved Somali MP, so he is an asset. Let him speak to them in the Somali language as well to drill ODM platform home. Kikuyus are evil, he should add, but not ODM Pentagon, because Somalis have no nice words for Kikuyus. It is a tribal warfare as they are doing in Central Kenya (though I have no problem against my brethren Kikuyus) but I know here in NEP, Somalis don’t like them as they accuse Kenyatta for the exclusiona nd oppression. Tell them why did Kibaki choose a non-Somali to be the PC? Say Kibaki is treating NEP like a security zone and second class citizens.
    10. Add any other point/s that you may seem fit according to the political dynamism of the day and also the reality on the ground. Najib Balala should be there with his Orange Kanzu. Agwambo should wear an Orange Kanzu, likewise Mama Ngilu is admired. She should go there and tell that Kibaki and his cronies refused NIHF bill because it would have benefited them, and therefore Kibaki wanted their suffering to continue.

  6. Baijo M.Lorowu says:

All ODM team and Raila supporters should watch out and be ready to deal with every scheme hatched by our opponents.

We should not leave anything to chance. We should investigate everything whether rumours or not. Langata voters should eduacted not to sell their voter cards to these evil corrupt people who are not ready to see a different face of Kenya. Let us all rise up and deal with PNU/KANU/PANU/ODM-K confusion and schemes.

As the ODM pentagon team of leaders go campaigning far and wide across the country, other leaders especially the civic leaders in their strongholds should keep watch as they campaign to ward off dangers of rigging plans or electoral malpractices hatched our opponents.

ODM shall beat PNU and others hands down.

  7. Maru Kapkatet says:

I would like Mr. Raila to have at the top of his campaign platform the following five issues which are key to the economic and social development of Kenya. These issues are:

    1. SECURITY: There can be no meaningful progress in Kenya if the lives of Kenyans and their property are not secure. What is the significance of a modest economic growth of 6% when there have been more beheadings in Kenya in the last five years than over the rest of the 45 years that Kenya has been independent?

Iraq is ranked as the most dnagerous country in the world but I will not be surprised to see Kenya not far behind Iraq when it comes to the gruesome killing by beheading. The Kenyan Police force has to be devolved into a federal force and a regional force and be supported and equipped so that they can live up to their motto of UTUMISHI KWA WOTE.

It is heart-wrenching to hear in a country that has been independent for over forty years the police telling citizens that they cannot come to their rescue because they do not have transport. It is even more sad to have a police force using helicopter gunships on one section of a population during a conflict.

Kenyans have every reason to fear the re-surgence and spread of the Mungiki menace in the next five years unles Kibaki is denied another five-year term. It defeats all logic that Kibaki really cares about the security and welfare of Kenyans when he continues to retain Michuki as his Provincial and Internal Security Minister when there is so much outcry from many parts of Kenya.

Right now, Mr. Kibaki can re-assure Kenyans that he cares about their security, rights, and dignity by firing Michuki and replacing him with someone more reasonable such as Uhuru Kenyatta. By establishing a committee to look into complaints from Muslims regarding deportation while still retaining Michuki, Mr. Kibaki is insulting Kenyans and taking them to be undiscerning fools.

    2. DEVOLUTION: I do not mind whether political evolution is phased in over a period of time but economic devolution has to be instituted on January 2008. The Raila government must courageously break up, the way AT&T Bell system was broken up into baby bells in the USA, such government bodies as the Kenya Tea Development Authority, Kenya Sugar Authority, Kenya Pyrethrum Board, Coffee Board of Kenya, Cereals Board, and others and replace them with Regional bodies with an element of competition amongst themselves being enacted.

    3. EDUCATION: The Raila government must immediately establish a federal as well as regional educational Boards to audit current status, impement corrdective measures, and generally oversee the provision of quality education in all the regions or provinces of Kenya. What is the point of introducing free primary and secondary education when at the end of their schooling some Kenyan children are virtually illiterate.

The federal body will be responsible for setting standards, accreditation, and capital funding while the regional bodies will be responsible for day-to-day management of all educational needs and systems within their jurisdictions. Raila should make it his government’s policy the establishment of at least one university in every province. Right now, only the Coast, Eastern, and North Eastern provinces do not have any public university at all.

    4. EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES: All Kenyans, irrespective of gender, ethnic background, race, and region of origin or domicile, and social status must be accorded equal opportunities to compete for government contracts and employment. The Raila government should establish Equal Opportunities Commission to educate through seminars and courses the less empowered Kenyan communities so that they can compete favourably with other communities.

The Equal Opportunities Commission should be empowered to police, enforce, and enable even through affirmative action a thriving equal opportunities environment for all the 42 Kenyan tribes.

    5. FOOD, HEALTH, and the ENVIRONMENT: The Raila government should look into establishing at the federal level as well as at regional levels systems to build and manage a Food, Health, and Environment agency. Food security, the health of Kenyans, and the health of the environment go hand-in-glove and should be managed in an integrated manner. Typhoid is becoming so rampant in Kenya while Diabetes is threatening to become the number one killer.

These diseases are directly linked to the environment and food. The Environment system should cover availability and sustainability of clean water and water systems.

  8. Eric B says:

When talking about Majimbo let the ODM leaders make sure that they always promote unity among Kenyans by using words like “we are all brothers and sisters” and “we will still remain united but much richer” etc. The bone of contention with Majimbo is that certain people want to paint it as the core of ethnic tension. Dispell this kabisa. Even ODM-K are reading from the same page now.

Someone has mentioned that ODM should talk about Kikuyus while in Northern Kenya. Please do not mention any ethnic group. While we know the problems and issues we should steer clear of mentioning tribes as thay can be used against us. In any case Kikuyus are also Kenyans. AsI said before we should not alienate anybody. I see ODM as a party for everyone.

Lastly the latest polls pointed out some of our presidential candidates weaknesses. Let him take this positively and build on it. I am sure that if he does this chances are he will hit the 57% – 60% mark easily. My vote is still with you.

  9. Christine says:

There is massive vote buying in Lang’ata constituency and no one should play it down at the moment because it will make a difference. Children as young as 11 yrs in Kibera are being given ID and voter cards so long as they are tall enough in order to vote against ODM. It is done quite openly and anyone who is looking for sufficient evidence will be able to find it.

There is the issue of the voters register as well. Is there a way of ensuring that it is not tampered with. In 2002 there were many cases of voters who turned up to vote and were told their names were not in the register yet they had inspected the same register a while back.

PNU will be playing dirty indeed and the biggest mistake ODM can make is to underestimate them.

Serious investigation needs to be done

  10. Jaugenya says:

Raila Team! dont waste your time with such propaganda , kenyans even Raila detractors are way too smart to fall for such crap, they should be treated with the contempt they deserve. The Internet is indeed a gift and a curse , people who are none Luos use luo names so as to give authenticity on Raila matters, but like i said Kenyans are way too smart.

  11. Leonard says:

    Chungwa Moja Maisha Bora.

I have been brought up never to trust politicians. I fear placing too big a hope on Raila’s shoulders. But I would rather be disappointed by Raila than give Kibaki a second term in office.

We love you Raila. & I will let my guard down just this once and ask that you get the will and determination to do what is right for my fellow Kenyans.

I will also place my faith on the blog admin when he says that the voter register in Langata shall not be tampered with.

Finally, I was touched when you shed a tear at Kasarani the other day Mr. Odinga. I shed a tear too, and like yours mine too were tears of joy – joy for Kenya. We were all jubilant in 2002 but we were betrayed. It is 2007 and we still dare to dream again. Do NOT betray us.
    I love Kenya.

  12. charles says:

hi,indeed as an ODM supporter,am very much worried with what is happenning in langata.its very true there is massive rigging taking place in favor of PNU..thousands of people especially from kiambu area are been registered in langata.they are registered to polling stations that are outside kibera.

i strongly believe our competitors have achieved their goal(because livondo is now relaxed he no longer goes to kibera)PNU has realised that they cant beat us in presidential numbers, now they want to use constitution.

i have a very sincere request, please!please spare us from post-election stress…i dont know what i will do with myself, when election results shows that Raila has won the presidency but lost in parliamentary…

hope there is plan B..i would even suggest that Hon.Raila shifts his base to my constituency back in upcountry(matungu)..we shall give him all our votes 100%.

  13. Fellow ODM supporters, I believe that pentagon campaign team are not sleeping on this issue of vote buying in Langata constituency. I know that this is a very capable team and would not set by the fence while anticipating/waiting for miracles to happen during voting day. Let give them a benefit of dought if not total benefit that they must be doing something. They have brought as a long way from the time of MOU betral to date.

As ODM supporters, we should help with any information which may go along way in preventing our supporters from selling votes and if possible linch all suspect to teach others a good lession.

Please keep vigil, this is the time to die for what you believe in TUSILALE else PNU gets back to power. Imagine MK for another FIVE YEARS what will happen to US????????????????.

  14. Merab Owiti says:

I had that people are being ferrying from all over to come and register as voter in Kibera for Raila not to win as an MP in Langata. They are saying even if he wins and in Langata he doesnt succeed as an MP he wont be apresident. Does he know this?

  15. Lexx says:

Am really concerned with the issue of vote buying in the pentagon areas i believe the pentagon are aware of this but i would like to make a request let us know what is happening coz PNU supporters are already happy that Raila will lose in Langata hence he wont become president. Now can someone buy my opinion i would like Raila to relocate to his native kisumu so that he can concentrate on national campaign not local.we have to look at this critically or else we lose and hand kibaki another term.on the same we heard rumours about 12k voters being double registered in juja and LGT can this issue be address before its to late.As for me God bless Raila.God bless Kenya have a peaceful elections.

  16. NyaKaksingiri says:

I would like Raila and the Pentagon to be veruy careful of their enemies and should do everything in their power to counter attack politely.

Please dont let this people win again.

  17. Semakula Odunga-Chie'ng says:

As an ODM supporter and resident of Langata constituency, I am not bothered by the vote buying said to be doing its rounds, primarily in Kibera. All that effort by PNU and ODM-K will come to nought, wapende wasipende.

One problem I see with the pentagon though, is that some of them have tainted past and they dirtify ODM’s otherwise clean image. What will be done about them, even thoug they are right now a necessity with regard to capturing the rift valley support for ODM? This is something Raila shouldreally look up with a view to cleaning ODM as soon as he is isntalled in the seat of power.

We would not like ODM to end up like NARC because of the corrupt few who will not reform their bad habits. This is a risk we must be aware of.

  18. Phabuarki says:

ODM, I dont know why anybody is worried with a bunch of confused monied clowns who cant organise themselves to do any meaningful campaign for their ageing, limping, forgetful candidate who doesnt even know how mant wives he has. do you think that he will remember that he came to power in 2002 through the now ODM team? Relax, and keep vigil lest they steal our votes, the PENTAGON is capable of handling any mungiki type tactics of campaigning these pple are trying to employ.

But if see any of them driving a government car in the campaigns, stone it he’ll be answerable for the damage, i dont think it will be a crime coz he was not suposed to be using it anyway. stone all govt vehicles used in political campaigns even the DCs cars, they are not suppossed to be attending political rallies organised by PNU.

    JAMAMNI TUSILALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. George says:

I also concur with my Colleagues who are worried about Voters transfer. Infact i was told by one of the people from Kiambaa who were changing their registration to Langata. Please! Please! PENTAGON. You have to do something else I don’t think if i’ll be able to see Mr. Raila going down after all this struggle. I Know that ODM is the winning team & anything else will affect my life terribly.
I love ODM so much coz it represent a change. Am already basing my plans on ODM Government.
“Its a change whose time has come”
Am kindly asking my fellow Kenyan to Vote for a change.
    God bless all of you.

  20. ochenge says:

Hi ODM stalworths am trying to figure out what “Agwambos” economic policy is.I personally asked him the question when he was in New York ie the fund raising at holiday inn and he told me to check out Raila07.com. I have read every link in the website and he hasn’t outlined any economic policy. Furthermore, i would like to know with the scanty resources per population we have in the country how he is going to amass funds to finance the dream infrustructure and benefits he has promised kenyans. I hope we will not be relying on money from donors cause it comes with clauses common wananchi are not aware of and it impacts us in the long run. I am a firm believer that the IMF and worldbank have perpetuated poverty in Africa ….ref to AFRICAN JOURNAL May 2007 issue. Experts have shown that it is going to take an economic growth rate of 10% for 30 years for the low tier mwananchi to feel an impact on his pocket. How is “Agwambo” going to convince the mwananchi that he is the sacrifice generation and he has to wait 30 years

  21. Njuguna Kariuki says:

I have been fearing that things are not well in Langata but am having confidence that it shall end well.

One thing I know is that there are many people who have registered in langata who will not show up to vote for Livondo. The onlyfear is the genuine lanagata voter fail to show up to vote.

The idea of vote buying, importing voters is based on a warped thinking in PNU that Livondo will get all Luhya, all Kikuyu and all other tribes votes except Luos. It will not happen.

All Luos, all Luhyas, 1/2 of Kikuyus and 3/4 of all other Lanagata residents will not vote for Livondo. They will vote for Raila.

We also pray for Raila presidency.

  22. ALEX says:

    Dear blogmaster,

This is a just a suggestion, please tell contributors to this website to write their 1st name(English name only). We dont want to know where they come from or there tribes! This will show that we r non-tribal outfit. Especially if there are many names beginning with ‘O’ or ‘A’,people will say that only people from Nyanza r contributing. By the way, mine does not begin with either of those letters

  23. ALEX says:

    To blogmaster,

    This is just a suggestion,
Is there a way in which we can have a chart room in this site? This will enable us share ideas about our strategies…plus also share some fun in chongoaring PNU-Pumbavu,Nyayo na Uhuru.

  24. Odhuno Kawere says:

    Alex,
Thank you for your fears. I love my name and it reflects my Africanness. it does not reflect my tribalism if at all I have any. This perception that we should be using our first names only is rooted in fear. We should be confident that we are judged not by the colour of our skins, the origins of our names, the schools we went to, etc but by our character and arguments. If Raila or Mwai Kibaki, or Kalonzo Musyoka was blogging here, what name do you think he will be using? Lets be proud of our African names for once!
