My drive to write this piece of advice directed to ODM and specifically to the Pentagon is founded on the following observations.
1.)That Moi and the people who ruined our great country are regrouping to stop ODM at whatever cost.
2.)That The PNU group will use Character assassination in the person of Hon Odinga to spread and build tension among Kenyans as we move towards the elections. This was witnessed in Kisii recently and perfected in the recent Launch of Kibaki campaigns at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday the 30th Sep.
3.)That we will hear more negative sentiments about the late Jaramogi Oginga odinga whose contribution to the democracy in Kenya can be ignored only by this group whose sole aim is the maintenance of the status quo.
4.)Raila as a person and character is “feared” by these pro status quo supporters, and they will attempt to engage him in every way they can to distract his focus and to instill fear amongst Kenyans.
5.)That the Church which used to be the people’s voice in this country and the robust civil society which existed then have in one way or the other remained silent over the challenges this campaign may face, just as they have been silent in the last four years since Hon Kibaki came to power.
6.)That the Media cannot be entrusted with the sole task of keeping check and balance on the daily happenings as this great country faces the most difficult and perhaps the only election which will seal the continuity of the ruling class or give Kenya back to her rightful owners- The Majority of People of Kenya.
We all know the ownership of the two major media houses in Kenya, all one need to remember is how the two media houses played their roles in 2002 elections, and one should not be surprised to see the media ganging up against the majority of Kenyan’s wishes, Already word is going round that the top most ownership of these media houses may be reconsidering objective coverage and impartiality and the “need to safeguard the status quo- in the light of the owners.”
7.)This government may easily contemplate rigging the elections, Hon Kibaki will most likely not renew the ECK chairman Mr. Kivuitu’s term, and that of his deputy Mr. Emukele. This should be stopped from happening.
Following the above, I am of the opinion that Hon Raila Odinga need not be the one to respond and articulate to all the issues that will come about the above situations. Neither am I of the opinion that the Pentagon should continuously be the organ to do this. Kenyans want to look at Hon Raila as “a president to be” and Kenyans want to see credibility and strategic involvement of pentagon at the topmost maneuvers and policy oriented bidding. Where as Raila and the pentagon can answer and reason out with the above issues, Rail needs other respected and known reformers who have the history of this country, those who share the same ideology as the ODM, those who in one way or the other have worked with him in the reform movement in attempt to realize the Kenyan dream. Those who are fairly young and energetic to do the run across this country to manage the propaganda thrown at Raila by the competitors.
I therefore thought of the following:
1. James Orengo
2. Willy Mtunga
3. Wanyiri Kihoro
4. Atsango Chesoni
5. Farah Mohamed
6. Dr. Mukhisa Kitui
7. Charity Ngilu
Four other members (Taking care of Gender, Reform minded, and regional balance)
This group should be of fairly young and strong people who will go all the way to answer, discredit, challenge the status quo on their pronouncements and also call on the “Status quo” class to answer on issues and challenges that are behind the dark age of Kenya. This group should also make Kenyans feel that we want to be “One nation”
My proposal for such a team is as follows. This group should be bold enough to call on Kenyan’s to mass action and refusal of the ruling class manipulative and undemocratic schemes at all cost.
It thus means that with this, Raila and the Pentagon will be left to articulate the policies the ODM government will bring to Kenyans, which will directly be compared to what Kibaki brought and or promised to bring prior to elections in 2002.
The Orange HORAP will pick a “fight” with anyone trying to use distorted history to discredit the Orange leadership. The HORAP will fairly take on Moi – head on, by reminding him and Kenyans of his poor governance for 24 years, they will further take on the Nyachaes , the Makweres, the Kombos et al.
I further suggest that this group should be given full recognition and be well coordinated in conjunction with the Pentagon, ODM technocrats etc. It should be formally formed and announced to the public. I realize that some of the above may not be parliamentary aspirants, but the ODM should arrange to incorporate the brains in the movement.
The good book (BIBLE) tells us “fear not”. We should therefore not fear these “agents of the devil” trying to regroup in the name of preventing an idea whose time has come.
Kenyans are not blind and therefore cannot follow the few rich people who have been stealing our resources since time immemorial. Look at these PNU guys and you pity the young and unborn Kenyans. If these people are not stopped, then we will have no country to talk about, for they will “privatize” and own everything – from the air we breath to the roads we use.
ODM is here to secure the future for all Kenyans and we – Kenyans – must resist any tribal sentiments or incitements that may plunge our country into chaos.
The battle is indeed between the few who believe in status quo and the majority of Kenyans who believe that things should be done differently (change). Remember these few people have the resources – which we must eat if they bring (if anything they stole then from us) – but we have the power in the name of our voters cards.
So dear brethren, THOU SHALL NOT FEAR THEM!, WE SHALL WIN IN THE NAME OF THE LIVING GOD.

ben Josiah is right,
ODM needs to take seriously and counter the trash that will be thrown at the person of Raila directly and indirectly. Also as the lead, in order to maintain the lead ODM needs to move way ahead so that the runners behind trying to catch up have no way of ever catching up. I think Mukhisa Kituyi is driven by personal gain and has since ceased to be a reformist.
recent news is that now Raila is electable therefore PNU actually need to have a reason for staying in power, i.e they never really had an agenda for being in office.
Also now PNU team is “advising” kenyans not to be mislead by “euphoria” conveniently forgetting that in 2002 “euphoria” kicked out the Moi regime.
and finally to my dear brother SKM campaigining on what he calls his clean record, as a christian we all know too well that no-one can declare himself righteous, and that is why, Jesus said “let he that is without sin, cast the first stone” and of course the mob dispersed. SKM is gambling on the hope that since “others sins” are more prominent, then the few sins of ommission or commission (directly or by association with dubious characters) while he practised law, and then while in Kanu will pale in comparison. The truth is, ODM is certainly above the pettiness of Kanu mud-slinging dirty laundry and skeleton in closet campaign days. PNU on the other hand see no threat in his quest and are therefore uninterested and prefer to vent their frustration on Agwambo. Any Kenyan that has lived through the frustration of being ordinary and worked hard to rise from humble beginnings must have encountered dirt along the way and particularly when rising to any sort of prominence because the systems have been inherently impossible to circumvent. Even church leaders in the best case scenarios have paid lip service to corrupt authority and turned a blind eye to obvious wrongs in order to remain in favor. And as we all know, when in a situation that you should lift your hand/voice to stop a wrong but you choose not to act is the same as condoning the vice. Just because no-one has come forth does not mean it doesn’t exist bro, Kenya from 1975 to present is endemic with all manner of vice and only those that do not venture out have had the fortitude to remain clean, everyone else has either had to experience dirt sometimes just to help out someone else.
and finally ODM beware of the political survivors with absolutely no agenda or dignity who will use Ngilu as an example to suddenly switch from PNU to ODM at the last minute having realized the folly of trying to stop the ODM bandwagon. Remember even Karume at one time ditched his best buddy (MK) of several decades for KANU and even stood at Nakuru afraha to declare him lost. like it or not, i am confident that the few remaining kenyans in central and eastern and a few in rift valley who had not yet seen for themselves why kenyans need change, are now joining the fight for change to free the mwanachi from these lagards who already have it all, mostly ill gotten or inherited from their parents some of who also got wealthy through dubious means , but they will still fight you tooth and nail for a 1/8 plot in ruai, send busybodies to harass you and even abuse their positions and use law enforcement to intimidate. Kenyans lets unite and vote these PNY guys and gangsters out once and for all, lets bring in true change for Kenyans. Even if Kibaki is or was a good guy, hanging out with the wrong bunch like Pattni, Biwott, Mois, and the entire Kanu rot immediately makes him untenable and we all know he does not ever come out to correct wrong even when it slaps him in the face 10 times. and mark my words, when finally the vote is cast and ODM wins the election, all these jackals will turn on kibaki and disown and totally humiliate the man. if kibaki has any good real friends out there he should be told that he will make greater history than even De Klerke did when releasing Mandela, if he can support Agwambo, Not only will he win the hearts of many but he will also in one fell swoop do what no other Kenyan from central has dared before to unite not just central but all other communities in Kenya at a time when PNU candidates and ODM-K are trying their level best to baulkanise kenyans in order to get votes. this one act will most certainly elevate him beyond any of his peers and will be equally powerful any of the liberation movements in kenya. but of course this is not fairy land, but heck who knows maybe the man is tired of this campaign anyway and would like to retire gracefully after one term.

While I believe that ODM is endowed with a rich bank of knowlegeable and smart strategists, there a appears to be a growing laxity in effectively countering the surge of the anti-reformists.
The ODM strategists have to identify each anti-reformist force that springs up and must immediately find an effective way of nipping it in the bud before it blooms. If an anti-reformist force cannot be nipped in the bud within the shortest time possible, ODM has to devise an arsenal of effectively neutralizing it.
Mr. Kibaki keeps harping on 6.5% economic growth. Why does Raila take ownership of this growth by reminding Kenyans that he worked so hard in 2002 to defeat Moi so that the economy can be turned around?
Why does Raila not remind Kenyans that he has stood his ground in the Ninth parliament fighting against corruption such as the Anglo-Leasing scandal that would have stilled economic growth had it been allowed to take root?
Why does Raila not remind Kenyans that the economic growth would have been higher, at 10% as in Rwanda, had corruption been eliminated? Why does Raila not remind Kenyans that the prices of basic commodities would be much lower had the government catered not only to the rich as is the case now but also to ordinary Kenyans?
Why does Raila not assure Kenyans that he wants to build a Kenya where every citizen is empowered to make a decent living and not just enriching further those who are already rich at the expense of the majority of Kenyans.
As for the NSE, not many Kenyans know how it works. Why does Raila not lay out plans to educate Kenyan parents and students so that they can know how to invest and trade in the NSE? Why does Raila not tie this NSE education and empowerment to his government’s devolution plans?
Former President Moi has warned that federalism will cause tribal clashes, why does ODM remind Moi that federalism works perfectly in the USA, the richest country in the world, in Germany, in Canada, and in several other countries? Why does ODM not remind Moi that it is only bad leaders that turn Kenyan people againts one another as happened in 1991.
Mr. Kibaki keeps talking about 6.5% growth. He is silent on security, on Mungiki, on Artur brothers and mercenaries. Why does Raila not ask Kenyans what a modest growth of 6.5% is really worth when Kenyans are being made to bury beheaded bodies of relatives?
It is the duty of the country’s leader to speak on an issue such as that of Mungiki. By speaking on the subject, the leader will be assuring the people that something is being done. Kibaki has been silent. Raila should ask Kenyans whether this is what should be expected of a good leader.
Why does Raila not ask Kenyans what a modest economic growth of 6.5% is worth when Kenyans going about their jobs of nation-building are being physically molested and humiliated in their own country as happened at the JKIA where the mercenary Artur brothers slapped a Kenyan?
Which sovereign country in the world will stand humiliation by a bunch of thugs simply because those thugs have connections (a love affair) to the daughter of the country’s president. Kenya’s freedom fighters fought for their country and fellow wananchi to enjoy the dignity and freedom that is rightly due them in their own country.
Raila should emphasize that his government’s plans of devolution will involve massive use of information technology to enable Kenyans save a portion of their earnings wherever thgey work in Kenya towards their retirement benefits. Every salaried Kenyan must have a way of saving a portion of what they earn with the employer matching that portion and the money saved in retirements savings plan.
If a worker moves to another region and lands a job (whatever kind of job), that worker will continue to save towards their retirement. Raila should stress about modernizing Kenya and should continue using South Korea as a country to model the future Kenya on.
Mr. Kibaki has been dishing out districts and title deeds at the eleventh hour just before the general elections. He did the same thing before the referendum. Raila should ask Kenyans whether this is the kind of leadership they want for their country – a leadership where the president only shows up just before elections while the rest of the time, he is devoting his energy and time to the rich few?
